No diagnosis either!
So since then I am dutifully swallowing
Cortisone
and a drug called IMUREK which depresses the Immune system (used in transplants) Now they are sending me to Neurology in an other hospital. I must say, since starting the meds 5 weeks ago I had 2 reasonable and 2 good days.....it felt wonderful!

A BRIEF HISTORY OF RA AND ITS TREATMENT
The year 1955 saw Prednisone, a synthetic off shoot of
cortisone
ushered in and so began the dawn of oral corticosteroid medication. Plaquenil was also introduced as the new anti-malarial drug used to put Rheumatoid Arthritis into remission (remember the Peruvian bark extract used in 1680?

With help from Health Unlocked
So when I'm about to tell you what has helped me, I must summarize all the efforts I have tried this summer: I had two
cortisone
-injections in the hip by my family-doctor and he told me to take it easy for a little while.

Niddle naddle NEEDLE Noo
I had a
cortisone
injection in my knee yesterday, and it hardly hurt at all. This morning I feel as though I have a new leg ... it's wonderful! Now I want to trot back to Poole Hospital and have the same in all my other achey bits, but that's probably not allowed.

I've really had enough - what shall I say at my next rheumy appointment?
I have had a bakers cyst too, which after having 4 weeks off work, the necessary drainiing and
cortisone
injection, has decided to come back and i can barely walk again.

Knees and hip have joined in the party.
Had a talk about the best way to go, first line of action was a
cortisone
injection to reduce inflammation in gubbins in the knee and ligaments. Ok sounded good to me...till i saw the needle...f**k me i'm going to be impaled i thought, this ones going to go straight through.

Another plea for abatacept experience
I had always maintained my RA with NSAIDs with the occasional
cortisone
jab, but in the last four years, I have tried embrel, leflunomide, toxillizumab and now abatacept.

Fed Up!
Cortisone
injections have been mentioned, but I don't fancy needles being shoved into this sensitive area thank you!

Pain means something IS wrong!!!
No use going to see my GP, as I know I would be told to take pain killers and anti-inflammatory tablets and maybe given a
Cortisone
injection, hence a visit to my Chiropractor.

Still feeling angry!
My sister is even convinced that the
cortisone
injections my Rheumy gives me is detroying my body. This is pushing me further away from them. I dont want to feel this way about my parents, they need me and I need them. Thankfully I have a wonderful husband.

BACK ON MY BELOVED AVASTIN
The weight is down to almost skeletal levels for my height, so I was given a blood transfusion and injections I have to self administer for the pain in the lower pelvic area and also they should improve my appetite - yes
cortisone
, I didn't want them but only for 5 days.

Hey guys, Just had a phone call telling me I need to go it hospital to have a SSD test done because I have low cortisol, which can cause fatigue. I am so unbelievably excited that some of my fatigue might be down to actually something and they might able to treat this!!! I hope it is and I hope it
