Can you tell us how you know you have low cortisol and inadequate thyroid hormone uptake?

Hi moggie, I paid privately and had the Genova 24 hour saliva adrenal stress test which showed low cortisol for most of the day except for early afternoon. My end wasn't really interested in this test. I must say I'm a little sskeptical at how accurate the saliva test is. If the test was correct then I have quite low cortisol levels. I've had a blood test for cortisol at the hospital and that came back within range :/

As for conversion of levo I feel like I partially convert it but not fully, I have no proof of that its just how I feel, never had t3 tested as biochemist won't do t3. The info has requested I have a t3 test done but he's not holding his breath, will find out more at appt next Monday. Levo seems to help my hair grow and keeps me feeling better than no thyroid medsbay all but I feel far from well, still have quite a few hypo symptoms. Hope your OK moggie x s

Within range? Where within range though?

Doesn't mean OPTIMAL. Lab ranges include people who are downright ill, so "within range" isn't something I put too much store in, unfortunately it is so often used to mean don't treat even when symptoms are glaring :-(

Still battling like the rest of us on here and thanks for asking.

I had a sst done the week before last and I know by my symptoms I am under medicated at the moment so I don't think it will do you any harm. Have you ever asked your GP for a private T3 test? A while back a girl on here asked her GP and it cost her £6 - if you don't ask you don't get!!! Is your endo going to do the sst?
