Has anyone had to give up work because of their heart issues?
Hi all, I have chronic angina and had a stent fitted 6 months ago. I have a very stressful job that gives me palpitations and chest pains. I'm thinking of stopping working but not sure about benefits ( I'm 52 and never been out of work) I know PIP is nigh on impossible to claim but I really can't carry

Reopening blocked artery
5 years after a quad CABG one of my vein grafts is failing and has not reacted well to stenting. The plan is now to reopen one of my blocked arteries in a procedure called Chronic Total Occlusion Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (cto pci). I just wondered whether anyone has had experience of this procedure

How often are meds reviewed by GP or Cardiologist.
I have been on the same medication since Feb 2020, never the doses or my case reviewed with the exception of an appointment with a Cardiologist in July 2020. Dealing with my GP surgery and getting any response from them is hard work, however and before contacting them I wanted to check with others how

Hello
My twin brother had a heart attack at the weekend, he had 2 stent procedures and is now home. It has scared him and everyone in the family. From being 'fit', to feeling fragile and stunned, little overwhelmed by recovery ahead, looking to see if this community can provide some support, advice etc..

Finally had a face to face with my cardiologist
Yesterday after a long frustrating wait, I finally got a face to face meeting with my cardiologist I also took my wife to try and get through to the cardiologist how bad my issues are and how much it is affecting my day to day life. Got to say it was hard work due to her being so dismissive of things

NI Chest Heart and Stroke 5k
So,signed up yesterday for a 5k walk at Stormont at end of February . After my heart attack in April last year it amazed me how dr's can go through your wrist and insert a little metal stent into an artery to keep you alive!! Also my son has a bicuspid aortic valve which will probably need replaced

Hi All, I took up running after my CABG to help keep fit 2 years ago but I had a really bad bout of sciatica in Sept that completely stopped me in my tracks. I'm just getting to the point where I can walk 5K and am hoping I can start running again, leg and back permitting. Has anyone else been in a

Cardiac micro vascular dysfunction/Vasospasm
The nearest I’ve got to one is: most likely
coronary
artery
spasm
or
coronary
micro vascular dysfunction. I was discharged back to GP with heart meds which sometimes help but also have side effects which then required more meds on top.

Help
I have recently been diagnosed with angina. I have artery disease ( 50-65% stenosis on LAD but my cardiologist says I don`t need a stent as my symptoms are being managed with various drugs including nitrates and statins. Is that a situation that other angina sufferers find themselves in?

10 weeks post stent and am still experiencing pain /tightness on the left side of my chest
I was treated as an ACS 10 weeks ago, and had a stent inserted as a result of ' moderate /severe mid - LAD lesion'. Everything else was normal and no damage to the heart muscle. I was also diagnosed as 'possible late presentation of takotsubo cardiomyopathy '.I have been recovering quite well with less
