Heart friendly multivitamins

Hi all, so I’d normally take a daily multivitamin. Hadn’t given any thought into whether I should or not since the Angiogram and stent.

Transpires as I’m on antiplatelet medication, I shouldn’t be taking Iron or Vitamin K (contraindications).

This advice came from a Pharmacist.

Instead I’ve bought these! They are quite the size! Hope they don’t get lodged in my throat lol!

Anyone tried these? Cheers, Sal.

I haven't seen this brand before but there are many supermarket and chemist multivitamins that do not contain iron or vitamin K. I usually check how many vitamins and minerals they have in them and compare the contents with the more expensive named brands before purchasing some.

Huge thanks, I hadn’t even considered multivitamins may have been something to think about. Centrum had iron & vitamin K in them. I wasn’t sure about other brands.

We seem to learn as we go along don’t we. Huge thanks for your reply 😊

Hi, I think it very much depends on what heart medication you are on as to what "natural" suppliments you can safely take. I have ben told by my GP and pharmacist that I cannot take fish oils or I would have tried these ones you mention. If you are on beta blockers or aspirin then you should not take fish oils. Good luck though, hope all goes well for you
