Thankfulness

Woke up to another grey morning, but have realised I have a lot to be thankful for. Firstly although I discovered I had a "widowmaker" blockage of the L AD, my other arteries compensated and I didn't have a heart attack. Secondly the team at Basildon who looked after me last year before and during the trial I agreed to go on. Thirdly I was one of the lucky ones who had a stent during the trial and didn't have to wait until this march, it made such a difference to my life. Fourthly the fact that my husband has prostate cancer which has spread to his bones the treatment he is on is keeping things under control at the moment. Lastly the much maligned NHS

Hello Ann

When we’re battling the latest problem and getting bogged down in life generally, it’s very easy to forget sometimes to just take a step back to appreciate and be grateful for all the good things we have, isn’t it.

Thank you for reminding me 😊 TC

Your health situation is somwhat different to mine and my worries at the moment are with my son who has a critical exam today that he is very stressed about. But your message is clear. Thank you for putting things into perspective.I wish you and your husband all the best.

Well done for living one day at at a time 'in the moment' and being grateful for where you both are in your health journeys and for another day of time enjoyed together even when it's a grey day. You are both an inspiration to others, and I'm sure that we hope that you will both stay as well as possible for as long as possible.

Sometimes it’s difficult to see what we have been blessed with because we can easily take things for granted. No matter what life throws at us there is always another’s situation that seems worse than ours. The NHS have been wonderful to me and l doubt l would be here without them. It’s good sometimes to stop complaining and realise how privileged we are. Thanks for sharing your words. 👍
