😄 good morning everyone, I am 18 months post op, HA . (Stemi) couldn’t fit a Stent so had to do emergency bypass, on the whole I’m doing ok I get tired easily, I exercise daily, my appetite is not the best, and I still get a little out of breath and don’t sleep great, but what I do find is I get quite irate very quickly and I use a swear word that before all this I wouldn’t have dreamt of doing! I sometimes wonder why I’m like this ! There is not a day goes by that I don’t worry about my health

It must have come quite a shock to you having a heart attack thinking it was going to be a stent then finding out you needed a Bypass
Feeling tired could be down to the medications you take and something you could talk to your Doctor about as well as finding sleeping hard these things can affect us after where they never did before
Do you have your routine blood tests ? these usually are done at least once a year if not more as lack of iron can also make you feel tired so you need to check you are up to date with getting your bloods taken
As for the swear word try not to let that bother you the stress we feel can make us do and say things we have never said and done before
I know what you mean about worrying about your health since my triple Bypass every single day as soon as I wake up I start worrying but we have been through a quite a big life changing event and it can affect some of us in this way but hopefully as we get more confident it will get better but again if you are struggling speak with the Doctor about maybe some talking therapy
You are not alone and so many will relate to you x
Hi Furryears, I think what you describe is pretty across the board for your op and the route cause. I too have similar symptoms but I just accept that that is the way I am now. I don't worry about my longevity, I'm sure the op has extended that a bit. It may help to ask your Dr to change the medication (one at a time) to see if you tolerate another brand/concoction better or worse than another. I'm also on the lowest doses and think this helps, but we are all different.
The anger issue is also something mentioned on here quite a lot. It isn't unusual and I can't think of an explanation. I used to call myself an angry little man, but I'm not so bad now. My op was 2 years ago. Hopefully, you will be able to settle, you are healthier now than you were before your operation 😊
