after heart attack, waiting for more stents - advice needed
My husband had emergency angioplasty with 2 stents following heart attack, just over 2 weeks ago. He needs a further 1-2 stents, and was told they’d be done within 3-4 weeks, so can’t start cardiac rehab until they’re done. He’s just been told the stents won’t be for at least 8-12 weeks, which has knocked

Thank goodness for our NHS and BHF
Hi - this is the first time I have ever joined a forum so I am a complete novice at this! After 62 happy and healthy years on this planet, 2 weeks ago I suffered the shock of my entire life. I woke up in the morning after a good nights rest and said to my husband that I felt a bad heartburn or indigestion

Common Femoral Artery and Iliac angiogram & angioplasty
Hi I wonder if anyone else in this forum has had ongoing issues from a Common Femoral Artery and Iliac angiogram & angioplasty. I had both legs done in April of last year (10 months ago) and whilst the right leg seems to be 99% ok the left one isn’t. I seem to get pain and sensations around the puncture

Fistulagram
So this Wed (Feb 21) I go to the hospital for a fistulagram. My fistula was created on Dec 22 and at my last doc visit (Feb 15) he noted that it hasn't grown as much as he'd like, so the fistulagram and maybe angioplasty to make it grow enough to use. I'm not sure what all is entailed but it sounds

Any advice, post angiogram
I have a relative, currently 67 years of age. At age 36 had 3 angioplasties done, at age 55 had quintuple bypass and now at age 67 recently had an angiogram. Family history 9 siblings all have high cholestrol. Father deceased from colon cancer at age 41 too long ago didn't test for cholestrol. Mother

Microvascular angina
Following a diagnosis last year of microvascular angina, I have been seeing another cardiologist who recently carried out an
angioplasty
on a blocked diagonal
coronary
artery. This made no difference to my symptoms.

Magnesium Glycinate & Selenium - ok to take with post HA meds?
Hi I take the supplements shown above, and was wondering if it was safe for me to do so following HA and angioplasty last September. I presently take the meds shown below, and I was wondering about any possible negative interaction. If anyone has any info to share I’d really appreciate hearing it. Many

Unexpected heart attack over Christmas
on Boxing Day I unexpectedly suffered a heart attack resulting in being rushed into hospital. The care was amazing and after many tests I went through an angiogram/angioplasty procedure which discovered a blocked sub-artery in the heart. This was dealt with whilst in theatre- amazing and I can’t praise

Calf Pain and PAD
Hi, I wasn't sure if this should be posted in a Diabetes forum or on here, after thinking about it I think that this BHF site is the better option. So Peripheral Arterial Disease. I had both Iliac Arteries 'bored' out with balloon angioplasty in May of this year (Left leg fully occulted and Right leg

Does anyone have experience of Radical Prostatectomy surgery or External Beam Therapy (with hormone therapy)?
Good morning, a fairly specific question: I had a HA in 2018 followed by single stent, diagnosis: Ischaemic heart disease, usual medication, rehab and all fine. In 2021 I was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory demyalinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), rare and little known condition - not related to the

I had angina and received an angiogram followed by angioplasty early October 23. Have had occasional sharp chest pains since including quite a few today. Initially I thought they were due to my breaking a rib 20 odd years ago but now I am not so sure...

Can't believe it
Can't believe it's happened to me. I'm here in the hospital after suffering what the cardiologist said was a widow maker heart attack. I'm 53, weight lift and then do 15 minutes of intense cycling 5 times a week. OK I have a fondness for desserts and 5 pints of beer but that's purely for the weekend
