Covid -19, still a big risk for some.
Some time ago, I wanted to post up a warning about the various covid vaccines, and of the lack of protection they might offer for some. Back in April, (not long after I had my first covid-19 vaccine), news began to filter through on the “Royal Free Hospital London, Liver Transplant Support Group” Facebook

Fluid retention / edema
Hi -- I'm 5 years post kidney transplant and over the past year I've developed swelling (pitting edema) in my lower legs. My eyes are also extemely puffy in the morning as the fluid pools there overnight. I'm curiuos if others have taken diuretics (lasix) to address this, or why they have chosen not

Understanding Dexa scan results
Hi. I've had some results of my latest Dexa scan today. I'm due to speak to the consultant next week so I thought I'd jump the gun and ask some questions so I could prepare for the conversation. This is a summary: " Dexa scan shows an unreliable score at the lumbar spine due to the presence of vertebral

INF+ ATO Study, "A knockout combination for MPN stem cells"
Some have likely seen this study. I looked into it some more today and realize it's a neat pre-clinical result. This is just FYI right now but it's an example of potential good things to come. (I just noticed Manouche posted on this last year, anyway maybe some new details here) "JAK2V617F myeloproliferative

Pancreatic issues, post liver transplant
Hi, has anyone had issues with their pancreas, post liver transplant. I had my transplant 16months ago, and due to ongoing pain and bowel issues, they conducted an MRCP, which showed, I have an Atrophic pancreas, any info would be great. Thank you

3rd dose of COVID vaccine….
I am trying to schedule an appointment for the 3rd dose of COVID vaccine done at the hospital I had my kidney transplant. However, this particular hospital only offers Pfizer. I am very uncomfortable getting a different brand as CDC recommended the same brand for all three. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus

Complications from Immunosuppressants
I am almost 6 months post kidney transplant. I developed a 24 hr fever on July 30, along with headaches and very large painful mouth sores. I could barely eat or talk. My white blood cell count was low but creatinine was normal. The docs tested for everything including CMV, Epstein Barr, and did swabs

Caring for mam Post Liver Transplant
So nervous! My mam is in the operating theatre finally getting her #livertransplant It's been a rough few years (including dealing with the alcoholism). I can't believe it's actually happening. Anyone been a carer for liver failure then transplant? Just wondering how long should I expect to continue

Friday 13th - what a lucky day forMy husband . He was I believe quite close to death and docs were querying whether to put him on a machine to take over breathing, ECMO I think they call it . I am 16 months post kidney transplant. My question has anyone started getting small warts mostly on my legs since the transplant? If so, what have you done to get rid of them??

Coping with what could have been
My husband has recently been very ill and had a liver transplant which is working wonderfully. I can't stop thinking about what could have happened if he had not had the transplant. He had sepsis in March and almost died and was going downhill fast just before his transplant. I'm driving myself crazy
