Sudden diagnosis of CKD3 a few months following adrenalectomy
My wife was borderline cushing's disease back in fall. For years she had a nodule on her adrenal gland that was creating significant health issues. Had surgery to remove the one gland back in November, and then was on a course of hydrocortisone for about 4 months (gradually decreasing dosage until done

Had the ablation.
Monday I had the procedure under general anesthesia-safely and successfully. The did give IV cortef at the start of the procedure. Since they needed to intubate my throat is sore for days but my ears-especially the right one are achy. I was debating why aching now; pollen count is moderate, and my jaw

Doctors perform kidney transplant on awake patient
Doctors at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago have performed a kidney transplant on a patient who was awake the whole time. They say the technique used updated anesthesia methods which may now be used for more patients who would be considered too risky to go fully under, which is the standard

Decompensated cirrhosis of the liver
My husband was recently diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis of the liver in April of 2024 after 2 weeks in the hospital. He was discharged with some medications. Since then he was readmitted in May for a week, and in June for a week. He has ascites and everything else that comes with the disease

Post Kidney Transplant
I had a kidney transplant 1 1/2 years ago it took over a year for all my numbers to stabilize to normal. Now I have achy joints and muscles everyday mostly shoulders. Don’t know if it’s the anti rejection drugs or just old age. Never had these issues prior to transplant. I’m an active 64 year old male

Weight gain - how to control it.
I'm now 13 months post kidney transplant. Since the transplant I have put on at least 15 pounds but it keeps going up - I was only 4-5 pounds and then it went up to about 10 pounds and then 15 pounds. Even though I try to exercise and I do watch what I eat too (my wife's a nurse so I rarely get by

Psychological and fitness assessment form
Hi, I’m filling in my transplant assessment form for a meeting in a few weeks time and some of the questions seem vague. There is a question regarding how healthy I feel today with a scale from 1 to 10 ( eq5d ). Does this refer to mental, physical or general health ? Also , if you say you feel too
