Oldest Heart Transplant Patient Turns 90
Well, that’s given us transplant patients something to aim for!!
Well done and happy birthday hope you have many more. 1990 must have been a good year for heart ops I had my bypasses at wythenshawe and still I'm ticking along all the best.
Great to read that I had my transplant in the middle of covid last year everything went well cardiologist is really pleased but I was still thinking I might only have about 10 years, I am 62 and I have already lost a year due to lock down, but mabe Dr Google is wrong 😅that man is amazing 90! He has given me so much more hope for a longer life char
Morning char
You will have a really long life, and lots of holidays in the sun😊 you are doing great and your lovely new heart will see you right.
Best wishes Pauline
Thank you so much all clinic visits have been great they are really pleased with everything, next appointment is not for 9 weeks MRI scan it's been a long time since I have had one of them, I was really surprised when I read that article I never thought anyone would reach 90 after a transplant it's just amazing, stopped my steroids which is great my psoriasis has flared up again not so great! How are you both keeping, the weather has been so nice to get out and about char
We are both ok thanks for asking, the weather as been good as you say. John turned 80 in June and one of the sons bought him a vegepod it’s a system of gardening but is on legs so he can sit on a chair and get his hands in the soil again so been growing veg salad herbs and Pak Choi he as put winter carrots in along with winter lettuce will have to see how they go. So it’s been great for him. Sorry to read your psoriasis as flared up, hope you can get a handle on it quickly. So glad for you getting rid of the steroids, the time between appointments seems to be getting longer? So that must be good news.Take good care Pauline xxx
The gardening thing sounds brilliant he must be so pleased to be able to grow things again and with this nice weather its lovely to get out in the garden, I have problems with cats they have dug up everywhere it's disgusting and dangerous but I have tried everything, I think with no luck, waiting for an appointment with the dermatologist the letter got here after the date I am raging I still have not got a new one char
Will have to remember "vegepod". Could be just the thing for when I get out of "jail"! Some salad and veg with flavour would be great!
Can’t recommend it enough, it as a canopy over to keep bugs out and it’s own watering system, he can get his hands into soil again made such a difference. Our other son bought the vegebag for him he as just planted Christmas potatoes! Just go through the back door and there is fresh salad 😂 there are different sizes by the way we have the middle one plenty big enough.
