Prepare for dialysis.
Hi all, my egfr dropped from 17 last September to 14 and I have been told to prepare for dialysis. Is it too late to improve on this figure? And what can I expect from dialysis. Will my energy levels improve? Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

Time for Fistula?
I'm a male 79 years old. My Creatinine level is at 4.0 and my GFR is at 13. I finally decided to do In-Center HD. From other members experience, am I still on time to have a Fistula put in? Will it mature on time when dialysis is needed to start? Trying to avoid access in the neck. Also, according to

Recall of some Philips Respironics PPE equipment
This is to alert people to the fact that in Canada and US (possibly also EU) some units from Philips Respironics PPE equipment are being recalled due to possible health concerns related to disintegration of the sound abatement foam (polyester-based polyurethane (PE-PUR)) used inside the units to dampen

Down on luck
What are my options? I need a kidney within a year or two, No insurance, do not qualify for medicaid in Texas, basically homeless. I am 57 so do not qualify to retire yet and still not on dialysis.

ADVICE ON CPAP MACHINE RESULTS
Hi Folks, During a recent staycation of 11 nights in hospital for atrial fibrillation, hypertension, shortness of breath on exertion and very swollen legs and feet, I underwent an overnight sleep study . The outcome that I had an AHI of 41 was somewhat surprising to a guy who's never had a problem sleeping

Please help me!
Please help me, my 54 year old husband has just been diagnosed with CKD stage 4, his eGFR was 22. We found out by accident, he had no symptoms and has always been well. We think he has had this for a while and is currently on steroids to try to reduce the inflammation in his kidneys. Last blood test

Dialysis @ 80 years old after kidney removal...
My 80 year old Dad has cancer in the tube between his kidney and bladder. It was discovered in December, but had likely been there for a little while. At the moment it's not spread and he's in decent shape. Remarkably a week last Friday he was given the opportunity of an operation for this coming Wednesday

WARNING: Your Philips CPAP machine may be seriously harming your lungs and more
Philips issues recall for numerous models with same dangerous defect. I was alerted by friend, called Philips. Got no answers, was mistreated and misled. Expect lengthy holds, ear-splitting pseudo-music on holds. Here's link to Philips self-serving "explanation" and "advice." https://www.usa.philips.com

Treating sleep apnea with CPAP therapy is associated with lower risk of heart problems
Findings from a recent study show that patients with untreated, moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea had a higher risk of experiencing a cardiovascular event, but the risk of incident heart problems was decreased in those who used CPAP therapy. Results show that people with moderate to severe

Just had the operation for a fistula what’s the earliest you can start using it for dialysis
Hi I had my fistula operation 3 weeks ago and just had my blood results back and my GFR is now down to 6, I have an appointment with my consultant next week but wanted to ask what is the earliest you can start using a fistula, I know it normally takes 6-8 weeks to mature. I am worried that I won’t last
