Long-Term Incidence of Secondary Bladder and Rectal Cancer in Patients Treated With Brachytherapy for Localized Prostate Cancer
Saw this on PracticeUpdate web site. There's been a lot of debate about RP vs RT (and still ongoing). Not trying to add fuel to the fire, but something to be aware and discuss with your MO/Urologist/Radiologist: "TAKE-HOME MESSAGE Patients undergoing radiation therapy for prostate cancer are at risk

Flash Radiotherapy could Deliver all the Radiation Needed in One Rapid Treatment

Well today I got my results and it’s cancer but treatable. Operation to remove tumour and surrounding tissue and lymph nodes then radiotherapy no chemo is needed

Boosting immunity before chemotherapy / radiotherapy begins: any advice? Does anyone ask for Vitamin B12 to boost immunity?
Alan should start his 12 weeks of chemotherapy / radiotherapy in about 2 weeks time providing his kidney function test is ok. Somebody suggested asking for Vitamin B12 to be given before treatment, to boost immunity. Has anyone done this? Would you just take vitamin B12 supplements bought from a place

Friable Prostate Tissue
Does anybody out there have any experience with "Friable" tissue in the prostate? That's what my urologist diagnosed me with after having painful urination with occasional blood. He said it's quite common with radiation treatment, but I haven't had radiation treatment. It's currently a wait and see

First radiation treatment
Finally after a months wait and a lot of hospital appointments to clear a seroma and streptococcus infection, I’m ready to start the final part of my treatment 😱

Feeling nervous
Went to see my oncologist today for my 2 monthly check, I explained I’ve been struggling with what I can only describe as nerve pain, as it’s a pain I’ve never had before since having radiotherapy. She’s felt down my spine and it felt “bruisey” on two vertebra, she’s now ordered at ct scan and I’m feeling

Ip6 and radiotherapy
Hi everyone, I wish you all a Happy NY! I just wondered what members thoughts were on taking IP6 after radical radiotherapy? I read one article which suggested that IP6 could repair damaged cells so I'm in a quandary as to whether to give it to my husband or not. Obviously not if this is true. He finished

Recent Diagnosis and a question.
I had a prostate biopsy on 12-19-2019 following an MRI that showed a "troubling lesion", according to my urologist/oncologist who is a surgeon. He said I would have results in the new year as offices closing over holidays. Two days later, on Saturday, 12-21, he called to say that of the 12 Cores taken

Could it be effects of Zometa after SRT?
Happy New Year everyone. I'm frightened and need to hear from calmer voices. In early December I had stereotactic radiation therapy on 4 spots on my spine/sacrum. The following weekend I had some intense pain flairs but it eased up after a week or so. The following week I began having a lot of fatigue

Concerns about Salvage Radiation
I start radiation January 6th. I think I can get the water/bladder thing down, but I have concerns about the other end. Did you do enemas before each session and is it OK to do a daily enema? I am not particularly regular and would like to be in the best position to avoid damaging that area. Also,

Confused person!
Due to terrible brain fog, confusion and memory problems - I am trying to take stock of where I am. If this is repetitive, I am sorry. Brief history: ME/CFS diagnosed 15 years ago (although having obtained my blood test results recently my B12 was 165 ng/L in 2005), 2 years ago diagnosis of colorectal

High grade prostate cancer: Large Tumor, High Gleason (9), Low PSA. What next?
Hi everyone, I am new here. My father (50 years old) has been recently diagnosed with high grade prostate cancer. The diagnosis came as a shock to us but we are trying to approach it head-on and gather as much information as possible. We are researching to decide on the best treatment moving forward
