Finally saw my consultant again last week. Think he was quite surprised at how swollen my hands have become and he said I'd done well to keep going. So am feeling a little more positive, though I'm battling through a lot of pain. The steroid jabs I had in my finger and thumb base seem to have given

Dry eye following Trabeculectomy
Hello I had a right trabeculectomy nearly 4 months ago & all was well until about a week ago. I have used regular lubricating drops as I have had the same surgery in my left eye that was complicated by uveitis. I have tried a variety of lubricating drops & eventually Theoloz gel was recommended & worked

Hello to the IBS Community,
😊 I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out because I've been navigating stress-induced IBS, and it's been quite a journey. The symptoms—pain, nausea, bloating, inflammation—have been challenging, to say the least. I have been feeling pain daily for months

Just saw my first rheumatologist yesterday, very confused by diagnosis?
Can you have negative rheumatoid factor, negative CCP antibodies, no pain, stiffness, swelling or symptoms in the small joints (hands, feet etc) & it still be possible to have rheumatoid arthritis? All of my symptoms for the past 5 and 1/2 months seem to be classical PMR (before I started taking prednisone

Blood test
Had both Covid and flu jabs yesterday. Lipase blood test due today. I've been searching to see if it's wise. Leave it 48 hours is all I can see after a long search. Any advice if you've been in that position. I didn't do my weekly Benipali jab yesterday . My RA is in remission but sadly attacked my Pancreas

Incidence of Large Vessel Vasculitis in late diagnosis of PMR
When I read members’ experiences of prompt PMR diagnoses I’m truly pleased for them but I have to admit to feeling a degree of envy. My diagnosis arrived ‘only’ five months after onset of symptoms; I say ‘only’ because I know that for others the wait was far, far longer: PMRpro, for example, was without

Tinnitus and Meniere's
Has anyone ever received Intratympanic steroid injection in their ear(s) for Tinnitus or Meniere's? I was just curious if it was worth it and made matters better. Is the injection painful or create other issues? My ENT has recommended it for my left ear which has a variety of issues. Thanks.

Stretching and exercising after cataract ops
Hi! I did skim this site to see if anyone recently asked about my question, but didn't see anything. I have cataract operations on 12 and 19 June (I also have high IOP but generally below 21; I'm astigmatic (which the ops should correct), and a form of strabismus, where my eye muscles don't line

Haemophilus influenzae
Has anyone been able to get immunised against haemophilus influenzae? I've just had a bad infection which has been hard to shake off and I don't want it again. I know there is a vaccine available for adults but my hospital seems never to have heard of it.

A puzzle
Helllo everyone. I came across an interesting publication from the Cleveland Clinic with the title, Is it Lupus or Fibromyalgia? It will not paste. The author is Blumenthal, MD of Rheumatology at CC. With this you can easily find it with a google. I came across it as I was looking at my new lab scores

Sore stomach on apixaban
I’ve been on apixaban for just over 2 months and have 3 weeks to go, then 4 weeks off before a d dimer blood test. I’ve had awful stomach cramps for a couple of weeks, blood in stools and leaking watery blood like I’m wetting myself (lovely picture!). The doctor is sending me for the fast track bladder
