Hello to the IBS Community,😊
I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out because I've been navigating stress-induced IBS, and it's been quite a journey. The symptoms—pain, nausea, bloating, inflammation—have been challenging, to say the least. I have been feeling pain daily for months..
Here in South Africa, like many others, doctors often prescribe Librax to manage these symptoms. However, my experience hasn't been what I expected. Librax contains chlordiazepoxide, a benzodiazepine known for its anti-anxiety properties. While it's supposed to calm the excessive brain activity associated with anxiety, I've found myself feeling more emotional and less rational since using Librax for a long time. It's like my ability to handle thoughts and emotions has diminished, leaving me feeling overwhelmed...
Could it be that Librax is exacerbating my symptoms rather than alleviating them?
I really don't believe on relying on medicine as this may be simply just suppressing the symptoms rather than getting to the root of the problem.
And more importantly, are there natural ways to cope with the pain, discomfort, and stress of IBS? Stress seems to be an unavoidable part of life, but I'm eager to explore alternatives that might offer relief without these unwanted side effects.
I enjoy doing exercise, being in nature, I look for ways to help my mental health. And enjoy creative things..
But life has been busy, it is challenging to try care for my family & myself. I don't get as much time as I would like to do the things that help fill me up & keep me feeling refreshed & happy..
I am also in a change of career & busy with my studies which is really hard to find balance.. unfortunately I am in a burnout right now. A long time under emotional stress...
I'm grateful for any insights or advice you can offer as I continue on this journey toward better health and well-being.
Warm regards,
RuthBlossom
