hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
A friend of mine with osteoporosis recently broke her leg and used Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy which accelerated healing and apparently stimulates osteoclasts. Has anyone here used this for osteoporosis without a fracture, and if so, do you have results to share?

Diarrhea and gas after radiation...
In 2019 I had 37 fractions of IMRT. First three years i had no issues to speak of concerning bowels. Last year I had a colonoscopy which showed enlarged blood vessels which was causing the occasional blood in my stool. My question is this...how many of you have had diarrhea and gas show up a few years

TAPUR study
Following up on a genomics report (47 pages ! Plus 54 min consult) and came across this study (phase 2 basket trial) in the US. Essentially when exhausting, or before, standard of care options, allows patients to trial off label approved drugs using genomics to identify specific targetable variations

happy Saturday!
I brought home my dog domino following acl surgery and am overwhelmed about his rehab routine. Massage, ice, meds, trips to vet daily for laser therapy, etc. for at least 8 weeks. Has anyone else been through this and have any coping skills to suggest?

PSMA scans and radiation of oligometastases
I need some advice on a subject that I know has been covered before: PSMA scans and radiation of oligometastases. G4+5=9, RP in 2014. Positive margins, IMRT and ADT in 2015. PSA undetectable until 2019, now slowly rising at 0.40, doubling time 11 months. My questions/concerns about the scan

Should the dose of Dutasteride be increased?
The plot above shows the residual (nadir) level of DHT in men as a function of the daily Dutasteride dose (mg/day). The DHT nadir numbers shown in this plot are: 23.8 pg/mL for 0.5 mg daily dose; 10.2 pg/mL for 2.5 mg daily dose; and 7.3 pg/mL for 5 mg daily dose. Ref: Clark (2004) [see Table

Parkinson's Nurse update
Hi all, thank you for all your previous posts, they were most helpful. Since then we have had a few medical professionals visit. The Parkinsons Nurse is coming to see my father-in-law tomorrow. Is there any questions we need to be asking? The OT and Physio visited yesterday and recommended a new commode

misunderstood peri -menopause treatment
I had a very traumatic experience in my peri menopause. Due to heavy bleeding and clotting in my last 2 years of peri menopause I was hospitalized with an anemia. Given tablets to help stem bleeding and they caused jaundice. Was offered hysteroscopy under NHS however not given the option for sedation

New 2024 AUA/ASTRO/SUO Guidelines for Salvage Therapy
https://www.auanet.org/guidelines-and-quality/guidelines/salvage-therapy-for-prostate-cancer Not surprising. I think they should recommend adjuvant ADT at a PSA≥0.35 instead of ≥0.7 because I think patients are hoping for curative SRT and not just equivalent survival. https://www.prostatecancer.news

recurrence after lobectomy
Hello, I am 53 and live in the UK and I stop smoking in my late 20’. I had a lobectomy of my right lower lobe in April 2022 to remove a minimally invasive adenocarcinoma staged pT1 N0, M0, PL0, R0 (found by complete accident on an abdomen CT scan.) I begged for adjuvant therapy after the operation

Thoughts on cognitive behavioral therapy?
I'm so worn out from trying to get well from this depression and anxiety. I think I've had it all my life and was able to cope when I was younger, but now I'm 70 and it's like something snapped in my brain. Don't respond to anti-depressants, therapy and ketamine didn't work and now I'm trying microdosing
