Capiverstib
Hi there! I have not started this one yet, but it is my next line of treatment when Xeloda stops working. My doctor was very excited about this one. According to my doctor, it can trigger high blood sugar and possibly diabetes, just as Piqray can. I had a serious allergic reaction to Piqray, but in the 9 few days that I took it, it cut my markers down by 300 points. My doctor did also comment that this medication has a much smaller propensity to cause some of the bigger side effects Piqray does. Looks promising. There is another PIK3 inhibitor that I believe just got approved as well. Lots of good stuff looking at the future!
hello
I had capivasertib through a clinical trial from July 2022 to june 2023 after Xeloda stopped working.
Beginning was not easy because of side effects (mostly diarrhea) but after a couple of months I got a dose reduction and I was able to go back to work and resume my activities. For me it had been a very tolerable treatment. Just had to fast 2 hours prior taking the pills and one hour after morning and evening.
Thank you. Why did you stop in June and what did you switch to please?
I had progression. I started Doxil and it did not work. Started Enhertu end of September and will have my first PET scan (since September) at the end of this month
I have seen it in reference to to Capitelo291 trial where Capivasertib–fulvestrant therapy resulted in significantly longer progression-free survival than treatment with fulvestrant alone among patients with hormone receptor–positive advanced breast cancer whose disease had progressed during or after previous aromatase inhibitor therapy with or without a CDK4/6 inhibitor. (Funded by AstraZeneca and the National Cancer Institute; CAPItello-291 ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT04305496)
