Recalls, Market Withdrawals, and Safety Alerts
I was searching for something else entirely when I found a recall for Magnesium Citrate I had bought last week and never used THANK GOODNESS ! The thing is, I looked in 3 stores (pharmaceutical areas) before I found this one, last bottle at a local Kroger. Fortunately, I did not open the bottle

Effects of short-dose steroids on colonoscopy results a month later
Hi there, I have done something foolish I know (no judgment please, I've been hard enough on myself). I regularly have diarrhoea that is so bad I am housebound. I am in the process of being investigated for microscopic colitis. We recently went on holiday and the return journey was a bit of a nightmare

Sulfasalazine and loss of appetite
Hi, I was wondering if any users of sulfasalazine have experienced a loss of appetite and/or experienced weight loss? I've been taking 2 grams daily (1 gram at night and one in the morning after food) since January. I had no adverse reactions to taking it but I started to lose weight since about March

Diagnose Liver Cirrhosis
I've told before that I doubted my diagnose concerning my liver. You can read my previous posts if u would like to. I remember two and a half years ago I had highly elevated values in my blood, a swolen, painfull liver and I could feel my spleen. Further I told the specialist I had blood coming from

polyps
I had a polyp removed after a colonoscopy. I am still waiting for the biopsy results nearly three weeks later. I am worried and have now heard that results can now take 4-6 weeks. Any advise please.

H Pylori - Omeprazole - Stomach Acid - Thyroid
Hi all, My dad is 72 and has been suffering with persistent diarrhea ever since he was prescribed long term steriods along with PPI Omeprazole. I suspect that the Omeprazole resulted in low stomach acid which he still suffers from today (did baking soda home test, took 6mins 40 for him to burp!). He

CA19.9 Tumor markers and Prostate Cancer

Hi, I'm still very much in that 'more questions than answers' phase regarding my health with a mix of thyroid, anaemia and perimenopause issues going on. Due to repeated low iron over many years, I'm thankful the NHS is now looking into the cause and I have a colonoscopy and gastroscopy arranged

on 3.5mgs of Prednisolone & having a colonoscopy with sedation on Saturday. Should I increase my dose of pred beforehand?
Hi all, looking for advice from you lovely knowledgeable people. I’ve tapered down from 10mg in June last year to 3.5mg 2 weeks ago with no problems, (apart from pains in my legs during the night, but I think that might be something else). I often wonder if the PMR might actually be in remission because

T and PSA basically undetectable. Is adding testosterone or having a colonoscopy 3 years post treatment a good or bad idea for the elderly?
Cancer in late 2019 was G9 with no indication of escaping the capsule. PSA was <10. Treatment initially casodex followed by one session high dose brachy, 25 sessions IMRT and 18 months Lupron. Currently PSA undetectable and T still <2.5. Pushing through a regular exercise routine but have no energy

Procedure Update
my colonoscopy went well despite the sharp poking that I felt. I have a tortuous colon of which I guess it has a few more twists and turns than normal. I also have diverticulosis in the sigmoid colon. I had several polyps removed consisting in a range of 3 to 7mm. So I will wait for biopsies on all

GCA since Feb. 2018 ---mid-transfer from one roller coaster to another. Its tricky.
I believe my GCA is under control. I am down to 5 mg of prednisone, and on that aspect, feel good. It has taken a year to settle into 5mg, and I hope others will read this and realize that sometimes it just takes a long time to get the dose down. I appreciate all the support from you folks. I shared

Family History
Hi. I have had a positive FIT and have a colonoscopy booked in just over a week. My bowel habits have changed, and there are small black spots in my stool every time I go. I am also suffering from bloating and fatigue. I am just wondering how much a family history increases the chances of my symptoms

Sudden colitis
Hi all, I have been in hospital for 2.5 weeks after a sudden bout of diarrhoea (16-17x a day), abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. I just had a sigmoidoscopy which showed colitis but the dr’s are still unsure whether this is IBD or due to an infection (Stool samples were negative for infection
