I had a polyp removed after a colonoscopy. I am still waiting for the biopsy results nearly three weeks later. I am worried and have now heard that results can now take 4-6 weeks. Any advise please.

polyps
I've just been through the exact thing.I had 2 polyps removed. My GP accessed the hospital records and gave me the results. My results where back 10 days later they told me 4-6 weeks too. Polyps are common apparently. Mine where benign.I know its hard but try not to worry
Thank you will try not to worry
Hi Ornx. My husband has had polyps removed during his colonoscopy - the first colonoscopy they removed 5 or 6 polyps, five years later he had his second colonoscopy and 3 polyps removed. Just a few months ago (5 years after the last one) he had his third colonoscopy and 2 tiny polyps removed. All have been benign. He has a family history of colon cancer, which is why his colonoscopies started 15 years ago. Polyps are common and usually benign. Like George here said, I know it's difficult but try not to worry.
God bless
Thank you very much for your reply .I am trying not worry. I just expected to have my results by the three week time scale the hospital stated in the literature.Guess I have to learn to wait.
