Did your colonoscopy give you answers?
Did you have a colonoscopy? If so, did it come back clear and the doctor attributed your symptoms to IBS? Did the colonoscopy help you find answers and relief?

Octasa / Mesalazine - Should I be seeing more of a change?
Hello. I have struggled with symptoms for 2 years - loose, frequent bowels, always with urgency, fatigue, etc. Had colonoscopy and relevant tests and doctor says that I likely have crohns and is treating me as such. I had steroids for 3 months which generally helped (though my calprotectin was higher

What are "normal" bowel movements?
With IBS have you noticed your stool never looks the same? Has anyone seen a change in how their stools look? Do they seem erratic, every day they look different? Sometimes it's thinner, sometimes it's not as long, sometimes it's short, sometimes it's weird shaped like a J...etc. Have you had a

NHS and Endometriosis both caused me lots of pain and complications
I’ve had many horrible symptoms for years including blood in my stool and infertility but my GPs and NHS Gynaecologists couldn’t find out that I’ve had Endometriosis. I was even told I may have bowel cancer as there was blood in my stool, so, my GP asked me to do a colonoscopy but Colonoscopy results

Still trying to test……
Any advice please? I’ve been putting off my annual Medichecks for various reasons, looking for an optimal time to do it - ie, post colonoscopy, post covid jab, post Christmas. I’d hoped to do it tomorrow but I’ve had a massive flare up of shoulder pain ( severe arthritis, gung-ho personality, Christmas

Desperate need for help and advice
I began to experience pain in my central back and left side in November 2020. I went to the GP and had my stool and bloods checked which were all found to be fine. The year of 2021 was fine for the first half and then in August 2021 I had COVID and was bed ridden for a number of days. After my recovery

colonoscopy query
I’m scheduled to endure a colonoscopy on 16th January. We are booked on a flight to Thailand on 1st February (14 hours) . Guidelines say two weeks should pass before flight so in theory ok. However this is a trip of a lifetime for us, much delayed and all booked before this cancer worry. I’ve no idea

IBD symptoms with no diagnosis
I was just diagnosed with IBS 6 months ago, before my 40th birthday. It started with persistent constipation, bloating and cramping that led to a colonoscopy. Since my mother has Crohn's, I expected the same diagnoses, but instead I got an all clear from the GI doctors. The months that followed put my

My IBS Team Sheet – 1. Muscular pain in chest (How I manage)
Six years ago I was diagnosed with IBS after enduring a colonoscopy and experiencing a bout of haemorrhoids for the first time. A few months after diagnosis I experienced my first pain in the chest and like most people think, I thought I was having a 'heart attack'. Having lived with my brain for 56

Unbearable pain
I started taking Lansoprozole about a week ago following an Endoscopy and colonoscopy. Am on a twice daily dose of 15mg for GERD. Relieved to say that nothing suspicious has been found.I'm experiencing terrible chest and stomach pains and am spending a lot of my time sleeping to escape the pain. Does

Has anyone here discovered they have endometriosis/and or adenomyosis at a later stage in life? Just found out at 50!
Right now I am sad and very angry. I have been under my local gynae and gastroenterology departments for over 20 years. That’s 20+ years of endless gastro tests for my ongoing digestive issues (I’ve had 2 colonoscopies, 2 gastroscopes, blood tests, fit tests, a scan for bile acid malabsorption). During

Colonoscopy update
PMRPro suggested I start a new post for the update on ‘Colonoscopy and Prednisolone’, so here it is. Firstly I’d like to thank everyone for their support and suggestions, which were very helpful. I survived the pre procedure routine, disgusting though it was and spent A LOT of time perched on the

Precancerous polyps removed, new symptoms 8 years later
So 8 years ago I had a colonoscopy due to severe constipation, a backup in my bowels, mucus and slight bleeding. They removed seven polyps, four of which were pre-cancerous, the largest polyp being 7 mm. They told me to be checked again in 4 years which I was, and it came back clear. Lately, I'd say

Any advice for gastro symptoms which respond to steroids, but no diagnosis? Does normal colonoscopy cover the small bowel?
hi all, I hope it's ok to post here - I don't have a diagnosis of crohn's or colitis but am looking for information. I'm diagnosed coeliac (6+ years ago) and autoimmune hypothyroid, with ongoing and increasing gastro symptoms - the main problem being that I feel extremely unwell like I've got flu
