The colonoscopy is to eliminate more serious things like Cronh's, IBD, etc. IBS is typically diagnosed by a process of elimination.

Yes, I did. Biopsies showed microscopic colitis which is only detectable under a microscope. Nothing else of concern.
My Colonoscopy was always clear. Pill cam gave me a diagnosis of small bowel crohn's disease, large ulcers, patchy inflammation and a stricture seen which couldn't be reached by botty cam, as it's located mid small bowel. It took 7 years to get a pill cam. Bloods on the whole normal but calprotectin always elevated, not hugely but consistent
