Erectile dysfunction meds and side effects
My husband is getting brachytherapy in September and then IG IMRT in October. He is currently on Orgovyx for month two and will be adding zytega next month. Good news is that his PSA has gone to 2 and Testosterone to 9 after a month on Firmagon so meds seem to be doing what are supposed to. Drs have

sertraline
Hi all, I’m been on Hrt about 18 months now but my anxiety is still extremely high, as it’s relentles. I’ve tried anti depressants flouxetine and Mirtazipine that haven’t really helped. I’m thinking of trying sertraline next, and was wondering if it has helped anyone with menapausal anxiety please.

Help deciding on treatment
Discovered this forum a month ago and have found it to be a wealth of information, with very educated/informed members. Hoping that you can spread some of your wisdom and help my finalize my decision with treatment. I've posted more details in my profile as well as write ups from MSKCC on my Biopsy

Zoladex injection
I began the zoladex injection in January of this year, I then had a laparoscopy in March which diagnosed my endometriosis. I had light bleeding for a couple of weeks after and then it completely stopped. Since then, I've had 2 episodes of heavy bleeding lasting 10 is days. No hormonal treatment has helped

Could heart pain be related to peri menopause?
Hi everyone. I’ve just recently stopped taking HRT patches as I felt nearly suicidal for two weeks every month. I have been having pains like a stitch in my heart on and off for weeks. Was wondering if any of you have ever experienced anything like this and if it was related to peri menopause

stitch pains in heart
I’ve recently been told I have Left Ventricle Non Compaction and I also have the dilated cardiomyopathy gene but no symptoms of that yet. My EF is 52 and consultant not too concerned for now. The strange thing is, almost within a day or two or learning this new information, I’ve been having small

Ped5i/Tadalafil etc as a benefit to SE of ADT?
Tadalafil , etc is prescribed for ED, BPH and PAH (pulmonary arterial hypertension). It is pretty much agreed upon that Tadalafil increases insulin sensitivity thus improving lean body mass, particularly around the gut, improves Testosterone/estrogen relationship and is good for heart and vascular health

Forgetfulness on ADT
Are there any ways to help with the side effect of forgetfulness / mild cognitive impairment while on ADT? My Dad (stage 4 PC) started on ADT 2 only months ago, but there have been a few moments of mild cognitive impairment since starting - forgetting shopping list, trying to return stuff at the wrong

Cold is good for you
Radio 4 currently has a series by Dr Michael Mosley, Cold Therapy. The third episode deals with exercising in the cold. One of his conclusions is that people who run reasonable distances for fun (as opposed to marathons, ultra runners, professionals) have their best performance at around 10-11C. Well

A technical question on Radiation
A technical question: The radiation oncologist tells me that I received 19.5 Gy via Cyberknife over 3 days, a high biologic dose, and 42Gy via conventional (IMRT) radiation over 21 days. He says these are not linearly additive ( ie., not just for a total of 61.5Gy) but that the effective biologic

Vitamins with ADT?
Hi Tall_Allen, You do not recommend vitamins when on ADT? I am on daily Casodex, has been for several years, and I am taking - Multivitamins, C-, D-, K- vitamins and magnesium daily. Should I stop this? Can you elaborate a bit on why you do not recommend taking vitamins? Thanks in advance!

Disgusted with Healthcare
I had to request my PCP to do a PSA as it wasn't standard practice. I had to call the urologist, who I originally saw, after I joined this board and knew I should be starting ADT, even though they hadn't two months after my scans showed Stage IV. I saw the surgeon even though it was Stage IV and wasn't

Low Testosterone Linked With Mortality Risk in Aging Men - by Jeff Minerd , Contributing Writer, MedPage Today May 13, 2024
No way to know if this is applicable to those on ADT, but it would seem to be relevant for consideration. The highlighted portion is a useful guide on male sex hormone targets for those testing them. These results might also add support for Morgentaler's "Saturation Model" for testosterone. Full

Malabsorption of drugs?
I am still awaiting a diagnosis of PA, but do suspect I do have it. My stomach pH level was recently 8.1, so very low stomach acid, which is why I am not absorbing/processing B12, iron and folate. I also did a test which showed I have very low diamine oxidase in my gut so have histamine intolerance.

Compression fracture or something worse?
Hello! My dad has been battling stage four prostate cancer for nearly nine years. He's done remarkably well, all things considered. He's had chemo, hormone therapy, immunotherapy, radiation, and second line hormone therapy. Along the way he has had heart issues and also CNS lymphoma (brain cancer).

Penis after metastatic prostrate cancer and hormonal treatment
HelloI was diagnosed in September 2022. Was immediately put on ADT hormonal treatment. Had radiation to the prostrate and radiation to the spine where it spread. My issue is penis shrinkage. Because of the hormonal treatment I have issues with getting with errections. Also was told by many fellow journeymen

T3 only and feeling a bit desperate
I have been taking T3 only for a handful of years now and for a couple of them on a LCHF diet I was happy enough. I lost weight, and felt good. In October 2020 I restarted HRT (I still had/have) hot flushes, but within 2 months I had started to gain weight and on balance I thought that I would rather

Private Blood Test Results
Hello, Diagnosed with Hashimoto’s 2019, it was a long and sickly road to diagnosis and treatment. Levothyroxine only didn’t work for me and after a couple of not so great endo appointments I finally found a really good endocrinologist who agreed to add in liothyronine and commenced me on 20mcg
