Odd things that you learn...
So I had my pre-op checks a couple of weeks back, today was due to sign consent forms, chat with pharmacy etc but it got postponed. Pharmacy then phones a bit later to discuss when to stop my cocktail, so we have a mix of 1, 2 & 3 days before except for 1 one, my over the counter Omega 3 fish oil. I

Request for Information
Request for Information Hi from the UK, I take trihexyphenidyl (2 mg 2 x day) I want to take Citicoline but I’m sure I read somewhere that the two are not compatible as one stops the other from working. I’d be very glad if anyone has any experience of this. I am twenty years in and have been taking

Ear dilema
Hi folks 💛 I recently followed some bad advice and put warmed, diluted tea tree oil in my slightly clogged, itchy ear not realising that Tea Tree can be Ototoxic to the Cochlear. I diluted 3 drops of Tea Tree oil in 30ml of Olive oil and put 0.5 ml in my ear. I let it sit there for around 10 minutes

Weaning down off Pregabalin
A medication error occurred when I went to collect my prescription for Pregabelin, and I am not sure that best way to proceed. For the previous three weeks my GP had me on 25mg daily – the low dose is because she said I am very sensitive to medication. As the 25 mg was not controlling my RLS symptoms

Four weeks post transplant
Around this time four weeks ago they were bringing hubby round after his transplant. A few folks have sent lovely PM's asking how things are going. He spent 18 days in hospital having a great first week then a few blips into week two - pseuodoaneurysm in his groin, blood clot near the liver (hint of

Does anyone else have weird dreams ?
MY partner is experiencing weird dreams at night. Leaving him tired out and anxious. Not sure if this all part of the decompressed liver disease or medications or abstaining from alcohol? Is this normal?

First, I should be upfront and say I have not yet, if ever, been diagnosed with cirrhosis. My most recent ultrasoubd if my liver, in December 2023, only said "The liver is normal in size and homogeneous. There is a mild increase in echogenicity consistent with stage 1 steatosis. There has been no

Fatty Liver
hi all, i had ultra sound and Doc said it was fatty liver. I told him i was currently being treated for bladder cancer and he said I needed to go back to GP . GP has now done more bloods and i suspect she is testing for liver cancer. Initially I had an ALT of 37 and it increased to 52. All other liver

Hello, I'm new and have no idea how to start this without sounding negative. I was diagnosed with cirrhosis 4 years ago (I'm 32) I'm sober for over a year and a half now. I've been from recompensed to looking at a liver transplant assessment which I got declined from as I was too well and had to give

Cirrhosis Diet and eggs.
Hi Everyone. I have a quick question. I realise eggs are a very good protein source, and that we're supposed to eat a lot of protein with cirrhosis [I'm not sure why though - I'm still relatively new to this]. I've read some sites that say to limit eggs to 3 to 4 a week as they put a lot of stress on

Transplanted liver now in trouble?
Hi All My husband had a liver transplant in 2017 and has been mostly well since. He had NASH cirrhosis and liver cancer. He had a set of bloods on Monday unrelated to his liver but his liver function was tested. We were called the next day as ther were some surprising results which have worried him
