My husband has put up fish oil intake, after we watched above video, not the liquid oil as suggested, not sure he’d manage that and started jarrow cdp citicholine at 250 mgs.

Been doing it for a couple of weeks now and the dyskinesia is definitely lessened and on some days none at all! Forgot to take afternoon meds til later, on one day and had a great evening in the pub with no dyskinesia!

Not sure whether to put up citicholine or stay put. He does take Amantadine but it isn’t working like it did so implemented the above changes. A work in progress.

Did he up the fish oil first then later take the citicoline.Who did you buy them from?

Upped the fish oil dosage, which he has been taking on and off for years, then added the citicoline at the same time. I bought the Jarrows citicholine from Powerbody.co.uk but it is sold in many online shops. The fish oils I get from Amazon.

I’m just researching buying higher doses of reasonably tasting fish oil in the U.K. as the soft gels say high dose but they aren’t as high as the liquid supplements. I’ve found a few which are double the amount of DHA, he’s already taking, but will probably have to add it to orange juice or similar to make it bearable to consume.

What's the fish oil DHA dosage you are using?

At the moment it’s 440mgs per day but in the video Dr Mischley recommends much more so that’s why I’m looking at the liquid. She also recommends 2 x500 mgs of citicholine twice day but I think that might be too much for my husband as he is on quite low levadopa meds at the moment.

I've looked at Nutravita 240 soft gels 440 DHA @ £18.99.Dr Mischley recommended 4g

Just wondered to try 4 gels @440 DHA a day to see if that has any effect.

These are the ones I usually buy from Amazon and have found them to be ok that’s why I’m going to try and buy the liquid to get a higher dose.

Fish oils

Let me know how you get on.Are you getting them from pharmax.

If so I wonder if extra tax occurs if being imported?

I’m only getting from U.K. and from googling there are quite a lot of Omega oils with higher DHA to choose from so will just take a punt!

i have bought pills from the USA a few times but not keen on buying fish oil I ll try U.K. version first. I ve not usually noticed import tax, only when I ve bought clothing.

Do anyone know if there’s a difference between krill oil and fish oil? Would you be able to use either one? 🥊

I've been told Krill oil doesn't cause 'fishy' burps.

I have looked at the difference between them and decided to stay with the fish oils.

There is no way the krill oils currently available will provide four grams of DHA, without taking handfuls of them multiple times a day. Even if you would be willing to do this, it would be prohibitively expensive and the ratio of EPA to DHA would not even be close to that used by Dr. Mischley.

Could it be that some day krill will be found to have such superior absorption that tiny doses will have the same impact on dyskinesia as Dr. M's protocol? Perhaps. But right now there is absolutely no evidence of that. Those who are interested in following her protocol really should read Park Bear's thread on the subject, as there is a detailed discussion of dosages and available sources. healthunlocked.com/cure-par...

Im getting confused now is the 4gm of fish oil from Pharmac that Dr Mischley is referring to 4gm of DHA or 4gm of fish oil with a EPA and DHA but having a high DHA content?

Rufous2 profile image

4 grams DHA. All you have to do is look at the two "High DHA" formulations available from Pharmax and this will be evident. Links can be found in Park Bear's thread; healthunlocked.com/cure-par...

I hate taking supplements if a reliable food source. can be substituted. I try and eat wild caught Salmon 5 times a week. Yes it's canned but it's cheap, has the healthy oils plus Astraxanthin as a bonus. Tin is claimed to be a safe metal; no worse than the capsules the oil comes in?

Farmed Salmon are given special feed to make their flesh pink but it is not Astraxanthin so I avoid...

I also would like to know if anyone has been successful in reducing or eliminating levodopa-induced dyskinesias after using Dr. Laurie Mischley’s regimen. (There were quite a number of posts here about 2 months ago.) I have one week left on the high DHA fish oil then I will stop that and start the CDP Citacholine. I’ve experienced no changes so far. I’m hoping for some positive input since my motivation is dwindling and my dyskinesias continue to plague my limited “On” time. Thank you 🙂
