Help for itchy, dry skin.
My skin has always been very dry, but has changed over previous months, feeling much more dry and uncomfortable with patches of eczema developing. (Am hypothyroid). On friend's recommendation have been using Equimins Udder Cream - 1 kg Tub - Eqs0367. It's actually for horses but is a non-greasy

Thyroxine v Eltroxin
I was given thyroxine when diagnosed a long time ago. I was allergic and given Eltroxin. This was 'discontinued ' and I was put back on thyroxine. Now I have multiple problems. An all-over body itch, arthritis, back problems, stomach issues. Was seen by a dermatologist who took blood tests and sent

Unclear diagnosis
Hi everyone My doctor told me I’m low in B12 (my level was 114) and I’ve just finished the 2 week course of 6 shots. I’ve also had a second blood test to test for intrinsic factor antibodies and parietal cell antibodies but my nurse was less than clear as to what this means but she did say it’s not diet

Just taken my daughter to gp (different one in the surgery) to discuss test results and what to do next. Coeliac negative, intrinsic factor negative. Other gp had ok’d loading jabs which she had in December as b12 was 166, ferritin 14 and folate 4. McV and MCH at top of range. Also put on iron tablets

Exercise, age and A-Fib
Afternoon all, Just found this forum as I'm currently at home recovering from a catheter ablation. I'm 51 and would class myself as pretty fit, I've done various sports all my life, field hockey, and various other sports in gym classes etc. About 5 years ago I started doing more serious cycling and longer

Anxiously awaiting test results...
Apologies in advance as this is going to be lengthy, but I would really appreciate some input from those with knowledge like you guys....! Thoughts on Intrinsic Factor supplements
I have seen labs like Metagenics sell a combo vitamin of B12 and intrinsic factor. I think the IF is derived from pigs. Any research if this is effective?

I'm new here, but been reading for a while! Really need help from all the knowledgeable people here!
My husband was dx with aggressive PC July 2014 at age 57 by 12 core prostate biopsies - 6 on left negative, 6 on right side all with high Gleason scores 3+4, 4+3, 4+3, 4+4, 4+5, 4+4. PSA was only 3.2 but had risen from 2.5 in only 3.5 months so PC was suspected. Due to high GS decided on RP using Robotic

Uti and OAB Following Laparoscopy
I had a laparoscopy over 2 weeks ago and have been suffering from bladder issues since the surgery (frequent urination, waking up hourly at night to pee, sudden urge to go). A little about my experience. My Dr. was very vague about the endometriosis removed, stating only that there were 2 small lesions

Methionine Restriction.
New U.S. cell study below [1]. Studies show that vegan populations have a higher occurrence of various deficiencies. It's a diet that requires a certain amount of education & discipline to get right. But this also makes it an attractive diet for selective nutrient restriction. Methionine is an essential

After a B12 IM injection how long should I leave it before having a blood test that would give a reliable reading for B12.
Having conflicting treatment from different doctors at our GP practice that is seeing lots of changes of personnel. Had 6 loading and 1 maintenance injections and then different doctor stopped further ones after blood test for intrinsic factor came back negative.

Diagnosis issues
Hi, I have had a history of b12 def in pregnancy 23 years ago. My levels were at 700 when tasted in 2011 without having had a b12 injection for 5 years although I had had some oral b12 supplements during that period. In September my levels were rechecked due to neuro symptoms which I have been experiencing

Help with supplementing please
Hi all, I have popped over from the thyroid UK forum. I am newly diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism. I’m feeling very tired with brain fog and poor memory and whilst I realise I’m probably not yet adequately treated with thyroxine yet I want to try and increase my B12 and folate levels
