Hi all, I’m EzChaz1226 this is my old account however I just wanted to update everyone ,

I’ve had a rheumatologist appointment today, chest X-ray, bloods and been given some medication. The Rheumy is getting the neurologist in on my health checks due to severe migraines, also I’m awaiting an ultrasound on my neck as I have a few swollen areas.

Thank you all for the help I will keep you updated! Xx

Thankyou so much!

I’ve reveiced a copy of a letter today from the rheumatologist to my gp saying

“ 25-OH Vitamin D = 17 nmol/L

This patient has been found to have a severe vitamin D deficiency,

We would recommend high dose replacement with Colecalciferol 40,000 iu weekly for 8weeks. After this patient should take a maintenance dose of Colecalciferol of 1000-2000 iu per day aslong as their dietary calcium is adequate .”

I’m a little confused is this a diagnosis , do I wait for the gp to contact me ? Do I still take the Hydroxychloroquine? Sorry so many questions I don’t know who to ask. I have an appointment to see the Rheumy in April for a Follow up. I’m waiting for the neurologist appointment and a neck ultrasound. I’m wondering if I don’t have lupus so confused.

oo, that's interesting. Without seeing the whole thing and knowing your history etc, it's impossible to say how far the rheumy letter is intended as a diagnostic summary. However, it seems a clear direction to your GP to commence you on vit D replacement immediately. If I were you, I'd phone to make an appointment straight away to get this started. Unless you hear differently, I imagine you should remain on the HCQ. Hopefully, once the deficiency is addressed, you will feel a lot better in any case. x
