Active B12 in liquid form
I have just been advised by a dietician friend that Biocare have developed an active B12 in liquid form which means that you would not need an intrinsic factor to absorb. I telephoned Biocare on 0121 433 3727 and had a great chat with a product advisor who agreed it is beneficial for Pernicious Anaemia

Please help, test results!
I hope the results below are clear enough for you to help with. Any thoughts are always greatly appreciated as they are easier for me to digest than the usual being talked at, rather than to, by the GP. Currently taking levothyroxine 125mg for 3 consecutive days and 150mg on 4th day. Intrigued by

Possible RA?
Hi All, this is my first post and I'm new to all this. Posting at this time because I can't sleep because my shoulder hurts too much. A few months ago I started with pain in my little toe and the one next to it on both feet at the same time when I walked. Over the space of a month it gradually moved

Let down by Dr's and "Specialists" in NHS - Where to now ?
I have tried to keep this as brief as possible, however please bear with me as I feel let down by the NHS and I’m at the end of the road. My Grandfather and Father were both diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia and my father received monthly injections of B12 for life. I’m a 45 year old male with the

b12 and hashimotos
hello everyone my b12 was tested in the summer and it came back as 113 so I had loading injections my parietal cell and intrinsic factor antibodies were negative. could it be that my thyroid is the culprit for the low b12 as I have hashimotos and I have just read that this can make your b12 low.

Worried
Hello, i'm a 21 year old male, and recently i've engaged in a lot of unprotected sexual activity. After one VERY intense session, my anus felt very raw, this was during a time I had extreme diarrhoea (Do I deserve some applause for keeping it in? ). After the 'trip', I only ate fast food (beef burgers

Falsely high B12 levels with IF antibodies
Thought this paper was interesting - shows how hugely different serum B12 results can be just depending on the method used for the test and that having intrinsic factor antibodies can lead to an incorrect B12 level. http://www.bmj.com/rapid-response/2011/10/31/further-cases-false-normal-b12-assays-intrinsic-factor-antibody-interferen
