Doxycycline, small clinical trial
A few months ago, Seasid posted a study on doxycyline, however it was all lab studies. This study is a small "open-window" trial on breast cancer patients indicating eradication of cancer stem cells by doxycycline, an antibiotic. 10.3389/fonc.2018.00452 Prostate and breast cancer have similarities

Debating whether to have myomectomy
Hi there, I have recently been advised to have a myomectomy in order to increase my chances of conceiving. I have three fibroids at the top of my uterus that appear to be removable through keyhole surgery. I'm debating whether to go ahead. I'm nearly 44 and feel that time is against me to start having

Suffering from Depression, Anxiety and Self-Sabotage
Hi. My name is Zara and I've been sabotaging myself during my recovery journey. I've been sabotaging myself at work and alienating myself from people. In January, I suffered from severe depression and got better, but then I started to hurt myself mentally. I discovered that there are other people like

Does anyone have experience with taking romiplostim (nplate)? Can taking it disqualify you from clinical trials in the future?

Is sea buckthorn oil capsules good for sjogrens syndrome? I had this diagnosis yrs ago and I know there is a correlation between sjogrens and hashimotos which I also have. Tried lots of eye lubricants (Prescriotion and OTC ) and oral sprays over the years but nothing has helped. Think I may have heard

Bacteria based drug delivery, now this is something I have been following for a while
Still not applied to clinical trials for prostate cancer, more advanced for other kinds of tumors but still a new field. The idea behind it is simple: let's infect cancer with a bacteria that can infiltrate it and release a payload! Salmonella seems to work very well! https://www.mdpi.com/1999-4923/

Hashimoto and Thyroid Eye Disease
Hi, I developed symptoms in my left eye about two weeks ago. First thought it was hayfever related, but it's only in my left eye. It started feeling worse (itching, sensation of swollen eye, some swelling in the under eye area) so I went to go see an ophthalmologist. He diagnosed me with Thyroid Eye

On both occasions of punch biopsy the wounds have been slow to heal, have become infected requiring antibiotics, similarly with a tooth extraction. I am on the waiting list for eye surgery and am anxious that I may

Meridian went belly-up in the summer, and the hospital (Brigham and Women’s in Boston) will cease using that machine in October 25th. I was supposed to start a clinical trial Nov 1st, now cancelled. Greater use of Benlysta, Saphnelo seen in US, EU to treat lupus
Goal to reduce long-term glucocorticoids use to prevent side effects
In both the U.S. and Europe, clinicians want to limit treatment with glucocorticoids — steroid hormones whose long-term use for autoimmune diseases is tied to serious side effects — among people with moderate to severe lupus

Self-Absorption: The Root of All Psychological Evil vs. Self-Acceptance and Compassion (Dr. Leon Seltzer)
This morning, a good friend and former girlfriend I've been keeping in touch with as we're supporting each other through some difficult times, in relation to my recounting the throes of depression I've found myself in lately, kindly convicted me about looking up and outward more in selflessness instead
