Cipro

Having read all the side effects if cipro, l am questioning whether l should take it. Colonised with pseudomonas and not wanting to return to hospital for ivs yet l decided to try cipro as only oral med available. Wondering how others coped on this drug. Would love to hear your thoughts.

December has been pretty bad, dreadful cough, lots clear of sputum, sent a sputum sample which came back as it always does as pseudomonos , Dr. says take my emergency cipro.

i took ciproflaxin ended up with achilles heel and sciatica, my nurse at the docs said not possible, i told her to google it, it says it can cause tendon problems in the elderly which i am .

Does anyone know if it's ok to take the Cipro while also taking the Brukinsa? Since it's new years eve, the pharmacy where I'd normally ask that question is closed.

Apparently my sample was resistant to cipro. I can't see a way forward now and my anxiety is in full swing. I do have a specialist but this is my current position. Can anyone give advice how to move forward as l feel l am at the end of the road. I am 81 but don't look or feel it most of the time.

Every time he has one, they put him on Cipro. Then the cycle repeats. At this point, I'm more concerned about the UTIs than the PC. He has a urostomy bag because the PC had spread to his bladder and caused damage there. He's also down to one kidney for the same reason.

I had blood work, CRP now 30, then a CT scan, a week of Cipro and Flagyl, which quieted it all down. A week later it started up again, now on Augmentin for 2 weeks, ending a week before the colonoscopy Jan 15. Maybe the infection is gone but not the inflammation?

Prescribed Cipro for 2 weeks and a PSA retest. The culture came back negative for UTI. Of course I dive in to research all I can on what could be going on with me. Little pissed that we went straight to Cipro after reading potential side effects, especially tendons. I'm an active runner.

My spouse received his kidney transplant 5.5 years ago and this week has his first UTI infection and is on "Cipro" antibiotic 5 days with a refill if needed. About 2 days prior he lost his appetite and foods tasted "off". He is diabetic on insulin before every meal and at night before bed too.

I'm worried about the cardiac risks associated with Cipro and Azithro. It says the risk continues for a few years after even one course. I have Tachycardia, Dysautomnia and have had cancer 4x so my body is very reactive. Has anyone been fine on these or had issues?

Doc orders stool tests, prescribes Cipro before results. Results negative. Long story short back up to 5mg, then 4.5mg. Things eventually settle down. Then nearly 5 years of very slow taper, got to 1.25mg with 1mg every 3 days.

Had a course of cipro for weeks after first sample but didn't help and now doc wants me to try cipro again for another 3 weeks. Have had ongoing issues for a while now, soreness. Pain during urination , ED and more.

Now I’m taking Cipro and Tamsulosin but after 3 days it’s no better. It’s hard not to worry it’s PC related. Any similar experiences?

Blood tests showed no infection but after it persisted my URO gave me a round of Cipro which after the whole dose seemed to work. But after a week or so the symptoms returned. Tall Allen said these may never go away. Does anyone else have similar problems? Or treatments?

In the middle 2002 I was given a fluoroquinolone antibiotic (three, ten-day rounds of 500mg cipro for diarrhea that was caused by mold exposure, NOT by bacteria) that wrecked my intestinal microbiome.
