CIPRO

You’re right whit, Ciprofloxacin can certainly affect tendons. Pete experienced it a bit last time he used it. Your doctor needs to check it out xx
Your doctor sounds a bit difficult to deal with.
Oh dear why do they treat us like idiots!?Cipro certainly can cause tendon problems even though I have been lucky enough to avoid them so far. I have just had a course of cipro and in her letter to my GP my consultant wrote ' be aware for tendon problems'. I take it because for me the benefit outweighs the risk ( I'm 74) but everybody should have all of the information at hand in order to make their own decision. Being dismissed by an ignorant GP is not helpful.
I can no longer take cipro because of tendon problems. Now have to go straight to IV's. I am suffering with tendinitis at present and haven't taken cipro for years. I presume now it's just another problem that is there lurking under the surface.
Hello a question were u admitted as an in patient to have Cipro via IV or day patient ? I ask as I was put on this for 14 days but developed tendonitis at day 6 doctor told me to stop using it.
HiOnly had Cipro in tablet form but many years ago. I am usually given Amikacin by IV, although that can cause problems and has to be monitored with frequent blood tests. It seems this drug attacks the tendons. I always make sure it is now put on my allergies.
Take care.

cipro oh my days prescribed it 3 times each time ended up not being able to stand had to crawl on the floor, as soon as I self diagnosed and realised the connection I stopped taking and all symptoms disappeared….. awful drug
Your GP could do with some lessons. Both the GP and te pharmacist warned my wife about possible side effects, and the patient notice is quite clear. Take care, Chris.
I'm sure the info leaflet with the meds warned me about the possibility of an achiles tendon issue. My consultant also warned me about it when he prescribed cipro and told me to stop taking it imediately if I felt any discomfort and contact him asap. Your gp needs to read the guidance!

Sounds like a doctor to avoid, hope you get better soon x
Hi Whit, that doctor is wrong, I am allergic to Ciproflaxacin because of the tendonitis etc it causes. Good for you to stick up for yourself. Make sure they mark your file on line with details of your reaction to Cipro, that way you will not be prescribed it again. Take care, Maximonkey
Your gp sounds like an eejit. He only has to read the leaflet to discover that tendinitis and nerve pain are well documented adverse reactions to all the floxacins. We need protection from ignorant gps!
