Prednisone
So, I posted earlier about my ruptured achilles tendon...now I find out that prednisone weakens so many things and now tendons. I am wondering if it will even heal on prednisone...Any suggestions out there?... I told my wife, I would rather be in a wheelchair than blind.

Adrenal Gland Question
I'm a GCA patient since AUG 2022, having started at 60 MG PRED and am currently down to 10 MG. We live in the mountains of Virginia and often have to deal with wildlife issues. Recently a raccoon has been invading our garden, wreaking havoc. Last night, I set a trap (a cage). I caught the little

Prednisolone & Nausea
4 days ago I reduced my prednisolone dosage from 3mg to 2.5 mg. I stayed on 3mg for 6weeks and was having a bit of nausea in the morning towards the end of the 6 weeks. Now that I have reduced to 2.5 mg I am feeling nauseous all day. Otherwise, I am feeling okay, now and again I have minor aches

Update on pain symptoms
Just an update, at 9 this morning I upped my dose of pred from 9.5 to 15 mg prednisone, 8 hours later the relief of painful symptoms is incredible, not completely gone, but sooo much better. I hardly had any sleep last night, just ached all over all night.

Bee Sting and Prednisone
This is probably the most trivial question that I have asked the group thus far, but I was just stung in the neck (right where the lymph nodes in my throat reside) by a very angry bee and I was wondering if there are any issues with bee stings when one is on prednisone? I am tapering to 7mg from 8 on

35mg Pred after a year of GCA,PMR
Hello, I've had GCA and PMR for a year. I'm on Actemra and prednisone. I was reducing and got down to 12.5mg three months ago. But the symptoms came roaring back and I kept having to increase the dose. I've been on 35mg for one month. I tried to reduce by 2.5mg but the unbearable headache came back.

Low platelets
Hi everybody, I have posted this on the AF forum as it sits there because I am on an anticoagulant for afib. However, because I suffer from PMR and I am on prednisolone I thought maybe others may have my recent problem. My blood results have come back with ESR at 17 which I am told is within the normal

PMR like symptoms r/t chronic tooth abscess?
Most recently it's been discovered I had a tooth abscess. The dentist belive I had tooth infection for a long time. Prior to leaving for the Camino I had this tooth removed. Is this the root (no pun) cause of my infection raising my inflammatory markers since 2021 which return inflicted PMR like symptoms

Amgevita Update plus daft question
This Amgevita has really helped me and to date have had no real bad side effects after four injections. In fact all my little niggles around the body have eased so if anyone gets offered it / don’t be afraid like I was- take it and hopefully it will work and keep working My only niggle now is that

What should I be doing about tapering prednisolone?
Hello again, good people. I posted a few weeks ago when newly diagnosed and have learned a lot from your advice but I think I need a bit more. I said then my GP wanted me to begin a taper from 15mg prednisolone after a month to 10mg. At 4 weeks on pred (last Thursday) I had bloods taken - ESR 8, CRP

headaches??
I have been recently diagnosed with PMR with pretty classic symptoms and good response to initial 15 mg a day of prednisone. After a month reduced to 12.5 which I will be on for a month then carry on with gradual reduction of dosage. I am completely pain free but have noticed I’m getting headaches ,

Prednisone reduction
Started reducing my prednisone f r om 30 mg a day by 2.5 every two weeks and mow at 22.5. I follow this site continuously and get the impression this is on the fast side. Talked to Rheumatologist about slowing down a b d staying at 22.5 longer. He insists I should continue and start 20 mg now. I

Weight
I’ve been on Prednisolone since end of January. At first my weight dropped due to lack of appetite, but this last week it has gone up quite a bit. When it didn’t happen at first I thought I’d be lucky & get away with no rise. Am I kidding myself? I know I haven’t been exercising as much as usual due

Been doing great lately, reduced again from 10 to 7.5mg prednisone. My crp is under 10 from 103
I had seen the rheumatologist and had dropped from 12.5 to 10, after the visit. Now for last 2 days I am down to 7.5mg prednisone, my own decision, I am certain he wont mind.... It still feels a little ragged in the AM, but I recover well and feel good all the rest of the day after a few hours. Still

Running out of road....
... I've got a consultation with my oncologist tomorrow. I've huge respect for him - he's been with me throughout this 'journey' from initial diagnosis 14 yrs ago. But, he tends to follow SOC (although will support me in straying from the path. I'd welcome some suggestions before I talk to him. My situation

PMR confusion over drug timings
Hi, I have PMR and been taking prednisolone for about a year, trying to reduce and now on 9mg daily. I take Omeprazole in the early morning, before Pred. and then the calcium chew. I have seen on these posts recently that the calcium should not be taken near to the Pred as they do not react well with

Tocilizumab
Hi. Has anyone had Tocilizumab injections for pmr? I've been looking at recent research which seems to suggest favourable outcomes for pmr sufferers who have problems tapering prednisolone.
