GCA dizziness
hello , I am asking this question to help my brother who has just been diagnosed with GCA. He had the classic symptoms so was put on 50 prednisone daily. He is looking to me for help as I have had GCA for 4 years myself. His CRP was 145 and down to 12 already after about 10 days. His problem is severe

GCA-Diagnosis
So far on my journey after diagnosis of GCA was put on 60 mg Prednisone and went down slowly to none. Have been on Actemra shot weekly for 16 months now with no flare. Has anyone gotten of Actemra as well as Prednisone with no problems?

Hair loss
I am at 8.5 mg of prednisone after starting on 20 mg on September 2023. I have lost half the volume of my hair. (gauged by the thickness of my pony tail now and the fact that barrettes and elastics used previously just fall out now) Has anyone else experienced this and is there anything that can be

Flares trying to get from 9 mg to 8 mg
I got PMR in May 2023 and I was diagnosed in Sept 2023. I started on 20 mg and have tapered down to 9 with just one flare. I did a 5 week taper March 1st, trying to get from 9 to 8 mg, but at the end of the 5 week plan on an 8 mg dose, I started getting groin and hip pain and morning stiffness. I tried

GP has suggested an increase in prednisone
As I had requested this it seems that the GP is willing to give it a try., Am up now to 15mg from 10mg. Been on now for 6 days cannot say much improvement as yet. To be honest, I am however not in a great amount of pain but heavily limping towards the bad right leg and flat footed when walking Just

How soon to resume taper after cardiac ablation?
I was on 7mg prednisone, easing into 6.75, when I had my cardiac ablation on April 15. Went back to 7 mg however, upped it with cardiac inflammation, 5 mgs for 5 days and resumed 7. Then I developed a chest cold with fever and put on abx. Used sick day rules and now back to 7. It takes 3 months for

PMR Ups and Downs
So I have been diagnosed with PMR and originally started on Prednisolone 30mg.....this plan was changed by my NHS Rheumatologist to 15mg over a longer period. I switched to this dose on Tuesday of this week and initially I didn't notice any difference.....if anything, by Thursday I almost felt at 100%

Interesting visit with Rheumy - fat not edema!
I had a very interesting visit at the Rheumy e few days ago. We discussed MtX that I have started, and I have very good effect now after 4½ month, so he will increase from 20 mg to 25, and start decreasing prednisolone. I am on 12,5 mg now so down to 10 mg, and then very slowly 1,25 mg every 6 weeks.

is this what CR looks like?
Starting Nov 20 last year, I began a relugolix on-cycle. Here’s the PSA readings from that point: Nov 20 : 3.10 Jan 8: 0.31 Feb 27: 0.13 Apr 15: 0.08 So up to this point, the PSA is dropping nicely, as it always has with on-cycles; and as I would expect, since I’ve been a strong responder

not pmr again
Well much to my surprise my pmr symptoms appear to have been caused by the Covid vaccination that I had last week. As I posted, my GP suggested that I hold off taking prednisone over the weekend to see if the symptoms disappeared. And they did!

8years PMR this week
hi Thought I would share my 8year journey with you all. Sorry it’s a bit long x It was the day before my visit to the Chelsea show 2016 that I was diagnosed with PMR I was wondering how I would walk around all day. After taking my first 20mg of prednisone the day before, that my GP prescribed I woke

Do Apalutamide and Darolutamide go alongside prednisone?
Appreciate you whether Apalutamide and Darolutamide must go alongside Prednisone when taken. A million thanks.

When PMR Goes Away
When first diagnosed with PMR and feeling like I was never going to be myself again, some friends, acquaintances and even a couple medical professionals assured me the diagnosis was the best of the myalgia’s to have to deal with because it is the one that actually goes away. If you do some research,

Good news on the bone density front
Hi, this group is helpful and supportive and feels like an extended family. So I just wanted to share a bit of good news. I had a DXA 18 months ago not long after starting Prednisolone and my scores were: -0.1 in the spine which was healthy but not so good in the hip: -1.9 Total Hip T score

gastro resistant pred and reduction
I have been on 1mg of gastro resistant prednisone for several months having reduced very slowly as advised. Not sure how to proceed now since I don’t think there are 0.5 mg of the enteric coated tablets available. I have started to omit one day a week with the intention of omitting more frequently. Would
