I have TFT results, including FT3! finally. Should I up my Armour?
I finally got my TSH, FT4 and FT3 along with TPO, blood sugar and cholesterol. So... Im on 2 grains a day now, was feeling good initially but running out of steam now. TSH- 0.44 (0.15-3.2) FT4- 9.2 (9.9-20.1) (should i add in levo again?) FT3- 5.9 (2.7-7.0) This I was worried about as my TSH

Starting Statins for my 7 year old???
My youngest daughter inherited FH from me and has so far had 5 fasting bloods done. Her most recent showed LDL levels to be 6.5. We are seeing the consultants next for our routine family appointment and will be discussing if Statins and if this is now the next step. However I would just like to know

Do you ever wish you'd never got your cholesterol tested?
This might sound sacrilegious when we are all told to "know our numbers" but I'm beginning to wish I'd never known. Four years after a very high reading (8.9) I am grateful that I have lost 2 stone, am taking more exercise and got my glucose down to near normal levels. What I am not grateful for is

Are commercial cholesterol testing kits/machines any use?
Hi, This is my first post. I have really benefited from reading all of your blogs and questions so far. I had a stent fitted 6 weeks ago due to a severe blockage in LAD coronary artery. Alongside all the other meds I need to take, I have tried Atorvastatin and Pravastatin (as well as Simvastatin previously

Cholesterol levels
Hi all I've been reading that high cholesterol levels can be a symptom of hypothyroid. I had a blood test and my cholesterol levels are abnormally low (I'm hypothyroid). Any advice? I read that organic coconut oil is good for this?

Concerned about taking Crestor
I had a heart attack, and a stent put in last September. Besides other meds I was also put on Crestor to keep my cholesterol low - but my last blood work showed it to be 180 - it has always been less than 200. There's a history of diabetes in my family (both sides) and I am concerned. There are other

My journey from misery to hope.
I wanted to share something. As some of you are aware, I had my Levothyroxine reduced just over 7 years ago from 150mcg down to 100mcg purely on the basis of the TSH. At the time I had only basic understanding of my situation as a post-total thyroidectomy patient. I had been quite well

KNOWING EGGS “EGGS-ACTLY”.........................
When deciding whether to include eggs in your diet, consider the recommended daily limits on cholesterol in your food: If you are healthy, it's recommended that you limit your dietary cholesterol to less than 300 milligrams (mg) a day. If you have cardiovascular disease, diabetes or a high low-density

High cholesterol & blood pressure, will T3 help?
My Dr is totally opposed to the idea of test for T3 and reverse T3 etc so I am on my own with this and I don't want to make a mistake. I have been taking T3 since Saturday after my battle with the Doctor last week. She was horrified by my high blood pressure (170/90 and high cholesterol) I can't

Should I be concerned?
I am 69 with cholesterol level 6 and fairly low blood pressure which the GP says is very good. Both my younger brothers have recently had stents inserted and I am concerned that I may be at risk as my dad died with a heart attack at 69. I do not have any chest pain but I do get unusually tired often,

14 year old son starting statins
I have agreed to my 14 year old son with FH starting pravastatin. Feeling a bit nervous about it. Consultant wants my 10 year old daughter to start them too but I want to hold off a bit longer for her. Would value any advice, support from others with children on statins or anyone who started statins
