Who Killed Bob WATSON? CARBS? -- HIGH CARB is bad diet for diabetics in particular.
Read following article -- This is not for those who advise high carb diet so please don't post your "SARCASM" on this thread and try and hijack it. You can keep eating high carb and keep eating pills and keep injecting more INSULIN to cover those carbs but let others have the freedom to chose instead

Could I be Hypothyroid?
I've been presenting with symptoms of hypothyroidism for the past 10 years, with blood tests identifying TSH levels at the higher end of normal and T4 levels at the lower end of normal, together with low ferritin levels (17 at the lowest). However since I remain within 'normal range' and despite a family

Results so far, still awaiting results for thyroid/adrenal...
I've just received my blood test results checking for anemia including iron, ferritin, active B12, red cell folate, reticulocytes, FBC, ESR, etc. I'm also concerned I may have a thyroid issue, as another blood test revealed a high/normal TSH. So thus far, my results of importance are as follows

I do not understand the results given for my Thyroid test-please help.
I had a Thyroid test a couple of weeks ago as a consultant thought I might have an underactive Thyroid. It did appear that quite a number of my symptoms did suggest it is possible. I have to phone my surgery for the results and unfortunately they do not really know what to look for. All I was given was

Your Healthy food - is your Medicine 2
Importance of Fats Fat is an important part of a healthy diet. It is the most concentrated source of energy of all the food compounds. There's more and more evidence that many fats are good for us and actually reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. They also help our sugar and insulin metabolism

Re. these NHS health check-ups being run out over the country: i was called for cholesterol test in Dec 2012.
An earlier one, which I requested about 3 or so yrs ago, was borderline I think, but I didn't take much notice of the numbers back then. I do remember being given a diet sheet and tossing it in the bin! The latest results also came back as 'OK' but then after Xmas I was called for a health check up and

High Cholesterol & Thyroid?
Even if I say so, I eat healthily, drink only when at a social event - 1-2 times a month as I have no head for alcohol but on & off I suddenly have my cholesterol in the higher numbers. My GP tells me it is linked to my Hypothyroid problem. I try to use food to combat the cholesterol problem rather than

The Keys to Cutting Cholesterol
To reduce your bad cholesterol levels and increase your good cholesterol levels, you just need to tweak your diet as follows. Avoid: Saturated and trans fats — These are real artery cloggers, so try to avoid them when you can. Trans fats are found primarily in stick margarine and packaged goods

High LDH and Behcet's?
I am wondering if anyone else has been told they have high LDH levels? I was at the clinic yesterday having my Remicade infusion and my nurse told me that my LDH level had risen again and that my rheumatologist has sent in a request for me to have an abdominal CT scan. This blood test (called lactate
