Huge increase in LDL
4 weeks ago stopped Rosuvastatin 10mg due to back muscles pain. The pains stopped. At that time my LDL was 1.4, HDL 1.4, Tg 1.1, ratio 1.8 and total cholesterol 3.3. Bloods were done exactly 4 weeks after stopping the statins and my LDL has shot up to 3.7! I had a shock. HDL is now 1.3, Tg1.3, ratio

Polyunsaturated fats v saturated fats
I am so confused! I read on another site polyunsaturated fats are bad for people with hypothyroidism and saturated fats are recommended. I tend to follow the Mediterranean way of eating more for heart health and keep slim. This includes oily fish , avocados and nuts which are PUFAs. My GP wanted me

statin side effects
Hi all. After advice from the pharmacist I have stopped taking Rosuvastatin 10mg for a week as to see if my upper back pain would ease. I have been having pain, getting increasingly worse, since November last year. And guess what - my back pain has improved dramatically over the past week with no pain

Statins and prednisolone
I have been on prednisolone for nearly two years, starting on 15 mg, now down to 6mg. Previously tapering at 0.5 mg every 6 weeks, more recently tapering at 0.5 mg at 8 week intervals. Now wondering whether to extend that interval further, after having had a bad flare. Following a recent diagnosis

Help with understanding these results
I’ve been reading these posts with great interest, especially after receiving my thyroid test results from a private blood test in December. I’ve been feeling “less myself” for quite a while, and have recently been experiencing what I’d describe as frequent warm flushes, especially on waking, rather

TSH slowly creeping back up.
I’ve been here before (the forum) but lost all my logon details so I’ve re-registered. I’m hitting the usual brick wall with my GP, so I’ll try once more before I do something I’m unhappy about, but I’m getting desperate. Briefly, my TSH is slowly increasing. By which I mean that my most recent results

Where can I find reliable information regarding cholesterol levels. I am in the US and cardio specialist who is also a lipid specialist is confused due to so much conflicting info for people with PBC and cholesterol.
