Where can I find reliable information regarding cholesterol levels. I am in the US and cardio specialist who is also a lipid specialist is confused due to so much conflicting info for people with PBC and cholesterol. My LDL is high, so is my HDL and my Triglycerides are normal. I don't have any heart disease. Lipoprotein A and B a little elevated. It is hereditary but I have had tests and it is not familial. All genetic testing came back negative. Any good articles, literature etc. that is factual. Everyone seems to have a different opinion. Don't want to take statins. Thank you.

May I suggest that you email your question to linda@pbcfoundation.org.uk for the Q&A sessions usually held on Thursday 1400 hours GMT. These Q&A sessions are very informative and interesting and the specialists are usually able to give full and informative answers.
I believe that DonnaBoll has posted that the Cleveland Clinic is a good source of information for the United States.
I take Rosuvastatin but I have a family history of heart disease.
absolutely a great idea to submit that question for the Q&A sessions on Thursdays. All of the sessions are videoed. You can see any -and all - of them anytime on the PBC Foundation Facebook page. So much information there from experts.
I have. But always get contradicting info. No one has HDL over 175 like I do. The good cholesterol. Confuses everyone.
