I’ve been reading these posts with great interest, especially after receiving my thyroid test results from a private blood test in December. I’ve been feeling “less myself” for quite a while, and have recently been experiencing what I’d describe as frequent warm flushes, especially on waking, rather than the horrid hot ones I had when going through the menopause (long since over).
I am no longer able to either walk very fast, or jog, as I was able to do until maybe last summer. My hands and feet, when cold, don’t rewarm for ages. I have experienced more and more “ectopic” heartbeats (I have long standing paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, diagnosed 20+ years ago, as an accidental finding, and which has never bothered me until the last year or so)
My total cholesterol is 6 mol/l, although I have healthy LDL/HDL levels.
I’m concerned that I’ll go to my GP and be told either it’s my age, or that even if I’m hypothyroid it’s sub clinical and they won’t help me.
Any advice would be very welcome

Do you remember what time of day these bloods were taken?
I'd suggest you ask your GP to test and make sure you get an early appointment pre 9am if possible for the blood draw when your TSH will be at its height, you might have to make up an excuse why you need an early as they generally won't agree if it's just from thyroid testing 🙄 worth waiting for rather than getting a later one.
Do these results show your ferritin, folate, Vit D and B12 levels?
