Hydroxychloroquine for Covid19
I read that
Chloroquine
is being trialled as an anti-viral for Covid19, is this the same as Hydroxychloroquine? I have been on this for over a year alongside my Pred for PMR & RA.

So worried about eye sight
I have retinopathy caused by
chloroquine
that I was taking for 13 years. I am running out of options for meds that I can take. I am now on methotrexate but not only is my hair falling out but my eye sight seems to be getting more and more blurred.

Coronavirus and AF medicines could interact
The most promising is an anti-malarial drug, hydroxychloroquinone (
chloroquine
), particularly in combination with azithromycin (an antibiotic). However these drugs have a risk of Torsades de Pointes (TdP). Each of these drugs alone can cause QTc prolongation.

COVID. some (possible!) good news
Been reading that an anti malaria drug, that’s been widely available for many years (
Chloroquine
) has been used with ‘some positive results’ against coronavirus. Both french and South Korean authorities have seen success. It’s far too early to get the bunting out!

'well I could trial you on hydroxy
chloroquine
but will it make difference? Maybe not so let's just leave it alone'! I'm not sure I have much faith left in so called specialists that can't wait to get you out the door.

MCTD turned from positive to negative
The doctor thinks the hydro
chloroquine
is working and caused the change to negative. A year ago I reduced the dosage from 400 mg start up dosage down to 200mg maintenance dosage. I was having a flare up about 4 months ago, so we raised the dosage to 400mg.

Chloroquine and eye problems
I was diagnosed with lupus 13yrs ago and was on hydroxychloroquine for approx 7 yrs and was then changed to
chloroquine
due to hair loss. I have always been anxious about
chloroquine
and eye problems and followed advice by rhemy to have regular eye checks with optician.
