Does having CLL really make you 3 times more likely to get (another) cancer, and does CLL treatment add to the risk? - Part 1
• Excess cases of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) seem to be wholly driven by myelodysplasia (MDS) following
chemotherapy
(Fig 4), although before 2003 and in patients over the age of 70 this chain of events is absent (Fig 2). •
Chemotherapy
also increases the risk of skin cancers (Fig 4).

Milk thistle: it gives me headache (figuratively)
Hi warriors! Since I am doing chemo and chemo impacts on the liver (not only of course), I thought it would be a good idea to help my liver with Milk thistle extract (silymarin), once per day 240mg. I had two chemo sessions and luckily between the two sessions both my white cells count and liver functionalities

I’m game to try couch to 5K
I’ve been through
chemotherapy
in 2020 Relapsed early 2021 and went through second series of chemo - finished March 2021. I’ve had no energy since. Maybe due to long covid as well as recovery from intense chemo. I thought I would give Couch to 5K a go but worried it might be too much. Any tips?

went off Xgeva for a year, have to go back on it. Ideas or tips helpful
Hi, the short version is I’ve been dealing w stage 4 MBC since 2019/ 2020 with mets to the bones since 2020, including a thoracic spinal fracture which led to a spinal fusion. I was put on Xgeva for a couple of years and later read on Xgeva’s website that being on it long term is likely to increase

Update
Just got my blood test results: Testo less 0.1 ng/ML and PSA still undetectable. Tomorrow I’ll receive my next 3-month Lupron shot, which will finalize my 24-month ADT after prostate bed and whole pelvic radiation. In the meantime I also had lymphoma and received four R-CHOP chemo cycles, two cycles

Long time reader / first time poster…
Hello all, Been on here for quite some time reading about other men’s stories but have yet to get in the trenches until now. Not sure why; maybe just reluctance to accept my situation, even though my “situation” has fully accepted me. It’s been a bumpy road. PSA 12.5 at diagnosis 11/2019. Been checking

1st Time posting. Need suggestions please.
My husband was diagnosed in Jul 2021 PSA 41 at the time, multiple mets in bones. n1b and m1b Gleason 4+3=7. I've been reading and trying to get as much info as possible from this website. Last Oct PSA shot up to 19. Xtandi started and he also gets the 3monthly Prostap injections. PSA went back down

Preparation for Chemo Second Time
Looking for information on tips to survive a second treatment of chemo. I will be starting 10 rounds of chemo soon. What should I do to help get through this again. I did 6 rounds at the beginning of diagnosis. I know about the ice gloves for the hands. Not sure they worked as I still have problems with

Liver detox after chemo?
I am starting Taxotere next week and received some advice from a friend fighting serious colon cancer. He told me how he detoxed his liver after each cycle. He used TUDCA Bile salts and PectaSol from ECONugenics Company. https://econugenics.com/collections/pectasol?Wickedsource=Microsoft&Wickedid

health spa
As the end of my chemo radiation is in sight I have been wondering about treating myself to a break at some sort of health retreat or spa that includes helping cancer patients. Just wondering if anyone has any experience or recommendations? It would be nice to have something pleasant to look forward

What things made you feel better when dealing with depression, fatigue and fevers or other side effects of medication or treatment?
I'm the spouse of a CLL patient who is in
chemotherapy
right now, and could use some suggestions from cancer patients who have "been there." I can't seem to lift my formerly VERY fit and active 74 year old husband's spirits lately as he deals with some bad side effects.

Clinical Trial Dallas UT Southwestern
Will begin a Pfizer starting on Monday. I will post more later as it goes. We are adding a drug to Xtandi to treat solid tumors. I have been on and off Xtandi a few times. I am chemo naive. In the past had a very heavy tumor load and received 3 rounds of Lu-177 from Ishita Sen, Fortis health in Delhi
