Hi everyone. At noon today it will be ten years since I went to A&E with pain in my legs. I couldn't get a doctors appointment which on this occasion turned out to be lucky because I was diagnosed with stage 3C Ovarian cancer and examination. I had the op and chemo like everyone else and have been so lucky that I wanted to let you know that there is definitely hope for everyone. It doesn't always mean the end of the road.
I do hope that you are all doing as well as you possible can and hope to be speaking to you all in another ten years. Live life to the full. Zena x

That's really wonderful news. I'm so pleased for you. And you are right, it gives the whole community hope! Do you mind if I ask, have you never had a recurrence in all that time? I hope you are well and that you remain well for many, many years to come! xx
I'm happy to say I haven't had a recurrence. I always feel a bit guilty at the same time as feeling happy. I had a bowel blockage but that's bee it. xx
Fantastic news Zena π€You are an inspiration to us all so we will all join you in a ten year celebration, youβre obviously doing something right ππ₯³ππ·Bug hugs Dee x
Hi Tammy, I don't post much these days as it's all turning into a different language with all the new things available. I still do the trials, well one trial now which doesn't entail much. I'm always pleased to see your posts. xx
That is wonderful news Zena - thank you for posting and I also hope you are going out to celebrate π today! It is so great to hear happy news and that we all stay well for many years. π₯°Sending much love xxx
Fantastic news Zenaj - I am so pleased for you. Iβve just made 6 years stage 3b but have continuing bowel problems. I , like you, am so grateful to be here. Letβs hope it continues π€π€π€π€π€
Congratulations to you also. Time goes so quickly. I have bowel problems too and have been taking five laxatives a day for the past nine years. Looks like it will be forever but better that than the alternative. xx
Can we have laxatives for a long time period? The parp meds have reduced my haem and I want you take iron supplements. But they give the horrible constipation so i have been on the fence on which is the lesser evil. I really would love to take the supplements (as I would like to do some strenuous activities without battling for breath ) for and have laxatives too.
I take 300mg of Docusate and 15mg Senna. The first is 3 capsules and the Senna 2 tablets. I have had to adjust over the years but that is right for me. There's no rush to the loo. I've been taking these for 9 years.

Thankyou for sharing your wonderful news and giving us hope that sometimes you can beat cancer. Hope that you have many more years. Warm wishes, Donna xx π₯° Blessings π
I was just wondering if you ever were given a parp medicine after chemo and surgery. Some of these parps werenβt available 10 years ago I believe. You have been doing so well if you werenβt given one and are still in remission. That is so wonderful. Who knows , maybe some women can go on and be well without a parp maintenance. Enjoy your happy story, thankyou for sharing, Donna π
Thanks Donna. You're right the parp medicine wasn't available. The only after treatment (which isn't even a treatment) I have is a CA125 check every 6 months and a mammogram every year. I'm pleased about that though as it does settle my mind. I wish you all the best. xx
Congratulations ZenaJ. You give us hope and inspiration. I would love for all of us to stand in a room with you, with a glass of champagne to toast your success.
Congratulations! It feels good, doesn't it? 17 years here, no recurrence, stage Ic ovarian with a side of endometrial, also Lynch syndrome which appears to have a better outcome. We long-term survivors need to toot our horns to encourage the ladies who are still at the early stages of their journey!
Thank you for posting, its great to hear that there is hope for and that we are not just a stastitic. May you have continued good health for the future too.ππ
Amen Sister! 15 years and 3 recurrences, but targeted therapy, occasionally supplemented by chemo, has me feeling good, with a good quality of life! Hang in there girlfriends! β€οΈπ
Truly wonderful news and so pleased to read your post Zena . Itβs lovely to hear success stories like yours π. Youβre doing so well and such a help to us all XX
I think there are a lot of positive stories but not everyone stays on the forum once they find they are doing so well. All the best to you and thanks. xx
10 years for me too on Tuesday - had inoperable primary peritoneal ovarian cancer diagnosis with dire prognosis . Had carbo taxol and avastin - fantastic response to chemo and it hadnβt returned - no idea why Iβve been so lucky . I tested positive to BRCA2 after my diagnosis , sometimes that makes you respond to chemo .So grateful- sending love to you all xxx
