Need help to fight fatigue from Radium 223

Stage 4 for last 3 years. Had 6 cycles of Chemo and then Abiraterone for 18+ months until it stopped being effective. Currently part of trial with Radium 223. Had 4 cycles already and 2 more to go. After this will likely have to switch to Enzalutamide and ADT. Now having bad fatigue issues; on scale of 1 -10, my fatigue level is 2 - 3. For last 3 years fatigue level was 6 - 7. Any recommendations of beneficial supplements or meds to help improve fatigue level? .... Thanks

If your fatigue is from poor red blood cell production, a transfusion may help.

Thanks TA for your advice. I have a blood test next week and will get the doctor to inform me on the condition of my red and white blood readings. Hopng that a blood transfusion will not be necessary. Thanks

Nearly everyone in the online treatment navigation support group I attend seems to agree that exercise is the best remedy to fight off fatigue.

I’m a big believer in starting slow with a physical activity you find enjoyable. Walking slowly around the local botanical garden is my fave. Build up stamina as you’re able. If it’s an enjoyable activity then that’s generally easier to do. I got some hiking poles to help me out at first, and they’ve definitely made a difference. I wear a neck fan to help ease any hot flashes from the ADT.

Shams, many thanks for your reply and the helpful suggestions. I've been doing this for sometime now and even coach tennis as well. I've noticed that after my sessions, the wave of fatigue is getting noticeably greater. The doctors don't seem to be able to suggest any supplements that might help. I realise now that it's just a case of fighting through it. Thankfully only 2 more Radium cycles to go. Thanks again.

yeah, I think radiation fatigue may be altogether different than the chemo or adt induced sort. Best of luck. Hope the trial gives you great results.
