I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January 2017.
Had my prostate removed in March 2017. PSA was ok for a while but started rising in March 2019.
Had 35 radiation treatments April-May 2019. Again PSA was ok for a while but started rising in Spring of 2021. A Pet scan showed a spot on my sternum. Had 2 weeks of radiation. In February 2022, PSA jumped to 80, 2 weeks later it was 165. My insurance paid for a 2nd opinion from Mayo Clinic. They recommended a 3-prong treatment approach. Lupron, chemotherapy, and Zytiga. Started the treatment in March 2022. In August my PSA was undetectable. I'm still taking Zytiga and Lupron and my oncologist started me on Xgeva. Just saw my oncologist on Dec. 27th and my PSA is still undetectable. So far, so good.
