Waiting period for catheter ablation in Bedfordshire
I am told I need
catheter
ablation
but can’t afford a private operation. My question is, how long is the wait for an NHS procedure ? I live in Luton beds. Any advice would be most welcome and thank you in advance

When is AV Node ablation the answer?
I have permanent AF. An attempt at ablation failed because my right atrium is enlarged and it was not possible to get a catheter through the OS from the right atrium and into the left. My EP initially suggested an AV node ablation but then, without telling me the reason decided not to, saying that it

8 years in, post ablation
Hi All, I'm an afib patient since 2010, and have thus far had 2 cardioversions and a cardiac
catheter
ablation
, followed by 2 more cardioversions. The ablation was in January and the cardioversions in Feb and again early April.

History of Paroxysmal A.Fib.
Hi, I was diagnosed with A.fib in 2002. Since then I have had 3 failed ablations. I had a pacemaker in 2011. In 2016 I was due to have a hip replacement. There was a big fuss about doing it in case I went into Afib and unfortunately I gave in to having an A.V node ablation. No more pain from hip.

General anaesthetic
Hi All! After some advice. Due to undergo an endometrial ablation under general anaesthetic. (Hopefully to help address chronic iron deficiency anaemia) Aside from having my b12 jab afterwards as opposed to before....anything else I should be aware of in relation to general anaesthetic and hypothyroidism

AV node ablation - is sport still possible?
I am in the "shall I shan't I have the Ablate and Pace" mode. I need to be sure I can continue to ride my bicycle ( I live in a very hilly area and before this AF occurred I would average 30 miles a day) and also kayak. I was reading some comments which say that the pacemaker does respond to the demands

An update on my AF
Hi, all. As an update to my previous post re my cardiologist. He has referred me to Dr Glyn Thomas, an electrophysiologist at the Bristol Heart Institute, for an Av node ablation. That was in June. I haven't yet heard from him. My cardiologist said that his son has just had an ablation after a four

Pacemakers and Golf
I had a pacemaker fitted about 18 months ago and an AV Node Ablation 6 weeks ago. Is there any reason why I cannot get back on the golf course. I am worried that the action of swinging the club could adversely affect the pacemaker wires. Is there any golfers in the forum who can comment on this?

I'm new here
Last 5th July 2018 I had a Pacemaker implanted and next 10th August 2018 I am to have the second procedure, AV Node Ablation. In 2000 I had a Mechanical Mitral Valve installed and since then have had problems with AFib. There were 6 successful Cardio Versions, successful for awhile anyway. My cardiologist

Anyone been to Bordeaux for an Ablation?
I'm hoping to go to Bordeaux for a
Catheter
Ablation
next month. Has anyone been there an if so could they tell me:_ 1) How long before the Ablation did you have the Transoesophageal Echocardiogram done and how sore was your throat afterwards?

Overactive bladder and Afib
I had a
catheter
ablation
in February 2015, which has been very successful. However I have recently suffered with an overactive bladder, so purchased an Innovo pelvic floor exerciser. After three weeks of use I experianced an Afib attack, my heart has been a little jumpy since.

Thinking of a Cardiac Ablation
I’ve been reading quite a bit from people who have had or are thinking of Cardiac Ablation. I just want to add my 2 cents. I had my Ablation on June 18,2018. The Doctor said it went perfectly. 2 days later I was easily walking up/down stairs two Fridays later I was on the tennis court and the next day
