Waiting period for catheter ablation in Bedfordshire

Hello,

Back in September 2017 I had a major heart attack resulting in 12 shocks and 10 CPRS, followed by one stent in the main artery.

Since then, I’ve had 3 episodes of atrial fibrillation and were brought under control by drugs.

I am told I need catheter ablation but can’t afford a private operation.

My question is, how long is the wait for an NHS procedure ?

I live in Luton beds.

Any advice would be most welcome and thank you in advance

I would suggest you telephone the consultants secretary and ask them the average waiting time. You could also them to ask the consultant how urgent they feel your treatment is.

Good luck.

I was also under hospital in Luton until referred to Brompton and I have always found the secretary very helpful and they always rang me back if I left a message. Good luck!

My doctor at Luton is Dr. M. Islam. You can ring switchboard and ask to be put through to the secretary of your doctor. I think it's worth it to put your mind at rest and express any concerns. Hope you're sorted soon.
