Pacemakers and Golf

I had a pacemaker fitted about 18 months ago and an AV Node Ablation 6 weeks ago. Is there any reason why I cannot get back on the golf course. I am worried that the action of swinging the club could adversely affect the pacemaker wires. Is there any golfers in the forum who can comment on this?

I can understand where you are coming from, but the only safe thing to do is ask the person who fitted it. Anyone else can only offer an opinion and I would have thought you would want some certainty.........

Ps. You may find this interesting, but note the pacemaker was fitted somewhere that was less likely to be affected by his golf swing....

You should discuss this with your EP as we are all different.

I’d go cautiously. I can understand your desire to get back on the course but the golf swing can pull on the pacemaker leads. Give it another month. I did. Also look up something like ‘pacemaker and golf’ and you should find some interesting stuff. Incidently there is or was a pacemaker golfing society.

Good luck.
