newbie and waiting….
Hi! I’m a newbie. Backstory: mom and both sisters have Hashimoto’s. My mom passed in 2010 & was told she had “inflammatory arthritis” a couple years before she passed (although by then that was the least of her medical worries). Flash way forward: I started having ocular migraines, very brief (10 seconds

Omega-3 DHA EPA and Prostate Cancer Risk
Dr. Mark Moyad is in my top list of doctors who are knowledgeable about Prostate Cancer, especially pertaining to diet and supplements. However I think this post is outdated regarding his comment that Omega-3 DHA EPA could be pro-PCa. I think the average Western Diet, especially in the USA has much

Constipation ....
Sooooo, while there are some things which are considered "unmentionable", they are often the things where a chat can be very helpful. Many of us are on heavy pain medications, most of which cause constipation. Personally, I can go eight days and end up with nausea and stomach pain. Yes, I have tried

Flare up after a pretty settled period
Two years ago I had a massive flare and was in a lot of pain / extreme fatigue. I was on prednisolone which was like a magic cure initially and then caused a host of gastric problems. I also trialled methotrexate tablets and methotrexate injections and really struggled with the side effects. After about

Fatty Liver and Low White Blood Cell Count
Had a Gallstone attack back in 2007 that led to my Gallbladder being removed. 2 months prior my blood tests showed elevated GGT (79 and 97) and Bilirubin (26 and 23). All other LFTs normal. 2008 I was then diagnosed with Fatty Liver. GGT 112, Bilirubin 22 and ALT now elevated to 52. It’s been a struggle

Advice on Results Please
Hello, I've been trying to find my sweet spot since starting HRT and discovering I was undermedicated. I've just had my latest test results back although I keep having issues with the blood samples for Medichecks so some tests have been redone and other are missing. Anyone else have issues with this

Hair loss getting worse - what am I missing?
I have been struggling with hair loss for 3 years. It is now falling at an alarming rate and I fear being forced into wigs or hair replacement surgery. It's been a long journey, so I don't know that I'll remember everything, but I'll try to hit the important points: 1. I have no thyroid 2.

So many questions!
Hello again! Thank you so much to everyone who responded to me last week when I asked for feedback on my vitamins. You all helped so much, I took everything on board and also had enough conviction in myself to follow up with my doctors because I'm not a hypochondriac (probably). Seaside Susie told

Omega 3
I've read that many fish oil supplements are rancid and low quality, but I've also read that the linseed i usually take doesn't have as much omega 3 as animal sourced options. What brands are recommended...

Hello, I just got my first ever cold sores. I also just have my Ocrevus therapy barely a month ago so my immunity is shot! I have never been one for essential oils but dang it they seem to be helping the most. However, I swear I saw another tiny bump this morning and I am about to lose my dang mind.

IBS and auto immune disease Rheumatoid Arthritis
I heard that people with RA can be prone to IBS. Stress is my trigger but it could be the RA meds I'm on.. I use immoduim, peppermint oil and try to relax. A few months ago my GP ran tests and all came back clear. I've had it on and off for many years but just now it's pretty bad. Just started CBT

Amazed!
After 30 years of living with the affects of radiotherapy I found this community after a Google search for remedies after the doctor only advised imodium. I have found it to be a very emotional discovery as I didn'teven know PRD was a thing! Has anyone tried peppermint oil tablets? Do they help

IBS - awaiting diagnosis
In my 50s and have probably had IBS type symptoms for years but not at a significant level, so never seen a GP. Having had a couple of more severe bouts recently, lasting a few weeks each, including some smears of blood on stools on two occasions earlier in the summer , I went to the GP. Been through

What has helped me lately
Hi all, It's been a while, but I wanted to come back and share some things that have been helping with my Hashimoto's lately. I last posted five months ago when I was all over the place with my thyroid med dose, feeling like I was taking too much, so I started taking too little, and had trouble increasing
