PSA from 575 to 15 in three months - good progress?
He was put on
casodex
and lupron shots. Now after three months PSA is 15. Is the progress good and the same approach should be continued, or is there any cause of worry? I have read some people had immeasurable PSA after 3 months of this regime. Thanks for the info.

Dad: no change in Mets in two years psa never dropped below 4
The doctor said when he feels it's necessary he'll add
casodex
or xanti(sorry think spelled wrong), but why wait? Lastly my dad says he's not in too much pain yet he's very slow to walk. His overall mobility is just very slow and that bothers him.

Took
Casodex
for 2 weeks, then started Zytiga. Symptoms were pretty much gone within a week and felt really good again. Also met with a palliative care doctor at the practice. No one really gave me any time estimates, but it was implied that I should get my affairs in order and enjoy my time.

Starting Apalutamide
Just got back from the doc and my PSA has inched up to 0.93 from 0.64 3 months ago while on
Casodex
and Lupron. We have decided to replace the
Casodex
with Apalutamide. I know this drug is pretty new, but if any of you have thoughts, suggestions, experiences to share I'm all ears.

Supplements/Nutrition for advanced prostate cancer
Then in July he started on
Casodex
(2wks), then Eligard (every 3months), Zytiga and Xgeva (both monthly). His initial PSA in June/July was 33 and after only a month of treatment it went down to 3 and hopefully it continously goes down to a very low undetectable level.

CA 27 29 fluctuating
Hi all. Fairly new here. Bone mets found in April. CA 27 29 began to increase last August so CT scans were done every 3 months until spine lesion showed up. Highest was 137. Started Faslodex and Ibrance in July. ANC dropped to 0.3. Had to take 3 weeks off to recover. Last months CA 27 29 dropped

Panobinostat.
In the new study, Panobinostat was used in men with CRPC who were resistant to Bicalutamide (
Casodex
). "The 40 mg panobinostat/bicalutamide regimen increased {radiographic progression-free} survival in CRPC patients resistant to {second-line antiandrogen therapy}.

Hormone refractory/ castrate resistant
I assumed my husband was hormone refractory once his PSA started rising on Lupron/
Casodex
combo. It’s still to be determined if he will respond to the Enzalutamide.

Quesey stomach and slight headache
I was taking 125 Ibrance for 3 months and my doctor lowered the dose to 100, along with Xgeva and Faslodex injections. I was feeling pretty good but for the past several days I wake up with a sick stomach and dull headache. In addition I am more tired than usual. Wondering if anyone has experience

Major issues on GemCarbo and losing weight
Hi Ladies, I was diagnosed in November 2015. I have done great until now. Eribulin was a cake walk, Ibrance and Faslodex I felt like i didn’t even have cancer. Even Taxol for 9 months was easy for me. Now I’ve had three cycles of Gemcarbo and I feel like I’m back when I was diagnosed. I vomit

Is my PSA score of 2.33 good, OK or bad ?
I was given
Casodex
50 mg for 14 days, then Eligard 22.5 mg for 3 months and a further Eligard 45 mg for 6 months. In the interim, I had 38 sessions of radiation (IMRT). I have oligometastatic prostate cancer with the L4 vertebrae being affected.

Casodex + Lupron (Blockers v Killers)
I am on the generic for
Casodex
+ the Lupron shot. My question is: Since
Casodex
is the hormone receptor blocker and Lupron is the T killer, why not just take drugs that block T and skip the Lupron?

Suggestions to prevent Chemotherapy side effects
Casodex
began today.......Lupron shot and first cycle of Docetaxel next Thursday. So of course, I have more questions.......SORRY! Is there anything we can do to help prevent chemo side effects? I have ordered CRYOMAX cold packs for hands and feet to try to help with neuropathy.

His only side effect from the
Casodex
is breast growth & tenderness & yesterday he filled a prescription for Cabergoline to address this problem. Hope this info might prove useful to those considering going the hormonal route.

Lupron + Docetaxel w/o Zytiga
His recommendation thus far is:
Casodex
one week for T-flare, then Lupron and 6 cycles of Docetaxel. I would love to hear what everyone thinks about this plan.........What additional questions should I be prepared to ask about this protocol?
