Help needed with understanding RT3 ratio
Hi guys, big thanks to all who contribute to this site for all helpful info over the years. Had some medichecks done recently and trying to understand the role of RT3 and the 'RT3 ratio' figure. Results: TSH .696 (0.27-4.2) FT4 20.1 (12.00-22.00) Total T4 98.4 (59.00-154.00) FT3 3.44 (3.10-6.80) RT3

How do I request these blood tests if they don't show on the form
After a partial thyroidectomy on Monday I have been requested to get bloods redone on 14th August so 2 weeks after the operation. As consultant had only selected TSH and T4 I asked if, as my insurance company were paying I could have more tests done. I emailed the consultant and he said that I should

Feeling exhausted!
Hi, I'm new to this forum and was hoping someone out there can suggest or give me advice. On 7th July this year, I had a left-sided partial thyroidectomy because there was a cyst growing inside and getting bigger. It was first discovered by my GP in March 2016 and after a scan was found to be benign.

Telling GP that you are taking T3
Apologies if I make this sound really longwinded! I had a partial thyroidectomy seventeen years ago and was on 100mcg levo until two years ago when an endo let me try 10mcg T3 added to 75mcg. However, after a year he said that the government was pulling the plug on T3, although he acknowledged that

HI, I have been posting on here after a large goitre only recently came up on my neck but I have been having hypothyroid symptoms for months. GP and the unsympathetic Endo are dismissing my results as normal but I feel anything but. I have finally got my results of the blood tests and am posting them

Partial thyroidectomy next week
I am having a right side thyroidectomy on Monday due to hypothyroidism symptoms and now more recently a large goitre which they dont think is cancer but cant be sure. The Endo says my tsh levels are normal at 4.9 before the goitre and 3.6 after. T4 9.1 and 9.6 respectively. Says they will check my thyroid

Is Levothyroxine making me anxious?
I had a partial thyroidectomy in February due to a large benign nodule & told by endocrinologist I can live sufficiently with half thyroid & no medication required. I see a private doctor is london and she put me on 25mcg levothyroxine after looking at my blood results. I felt great for first 10 weeks

TAKE HEART, A. Fibbers and A. Flutterers
I got rhythm. I got sinus rhythm, which I got it six months ago following my cardiac ablation at the City Hospital in Nottingham. I accept that my A fib might return but the longer I am in NSR the less likely this is. And Isn't this a lovely picture? The Holy Grail for all us A Fibbers and A Flutterers

1st blood test after 14 months on NDT
Hi all. I had a blood test last week because my doc says to keep having them annually, he knows I'm on NDT. I got a phone call from the surgery this morning to say that the test is showing I'm 'over-medicating' and I need to see the doc regarding lowering my dose - of course she things I'm on levo. I'm

Abdominal Pain after Cardiac Ablation
Hi, I had a cardiac ablation on 6/8/2017. I am happy at this point to report that other than some flutters and flops the first week that immediately converted to normal sinus rhythm, the a-fib seems to be under control. However, I have been having off and on abdominal pain since I woke up from the

I am new here - Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid and Mycophenelate
I was diagnosed with AF in 2000 and eventually had a successful cardiac ablation in 2011. At a similar time I was diagnosed with Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid (MMP) which is basically an incurable autoimmune blistering disease. I have just been put on Mycophenelate (I have been resisting this and/steroids
