Had right lobe thyroidectomy nearly 7 weeks ago due to hyperthyroidism and solid mass goitre.Initially coughing subsided but in last 3 days I can't stop coughing.worse in evening and night..can hardly catch my breadth ..sharp dry cough. Some mucus as well. Not on meds at the moment. Bloods all came back within range. Symptoms now include feeling cold in evening, night sweats and dizziness. Any comments or help much appreciated. Saw endocrinologist last week and said to get bloods done in couple of months but my symptoms were not as severe like they are now.
Thanks in advance

I asked for ferritin folate, vit b12 but got no results.
My endocrinologist who I seen last week said that she tested for ferritin, folate, vitamin b 12 and anti bodies back in April (prior to my op) and she was happy.
Told her about my symptoms (hadn't cough at time) and she said to retest in couple months as take time for body to settle after operation.
TSH 1.45, FT4 16.5 and T3 1.5 are unequivocally euthyroid (normal) which indicates your remaining thyroid lobe is currently working well.
Calcium is within normal range and vitD 91 is optimal although you will need to supplement 2,000iu daily Oct-Apr to maintain the level. The other results are within range.
Always ask your endo for your results and ranges as having the results is the only way to know whether they are optimal.
I had a rotten throat after my partial thyroidectomy in 1989. In fact the hospital gave me a leaving present of several bottles of cough mixture. It felt as if they had been poking around with a hammer and chisel in my throat rather than with medical instruments. But the feeling subsided slowly and disappeared after a couple of weeks. Also the ½ remaining thyroid took 3 or 4 months to start working as it should.
For the cough to still be with you after 7 weeks is not right. See your doc, perhaps you need a scan or similar. Probably not to worry too much about hypo symptoms just yet as the remainder of yours may be as slow off the mark as mine was all those years ago. Your blood test in a few weeks may illuminate the matter somewhat.
Thanks so much for your prompt responses. Feel reassured when I come to this forum learning from other people's experiences. I will up my vit d for winter etc. knowing that I have an opinion here re blood results is even more reassuring! Will check with gp in morning regarding my cough. Will get my bloods checked again in couple of months. Thanks
Sorry just to note when I want to get my anti bodies checked what specifically do I request from my gp. The last time I don't think he got that part quite right .
