Dealing with the next chapter.
It’s been a week since we found out that mums treatment wasn’t working. She made the decision that she wouldn’t try a fourth option as it could prove more damaging, especially as she’s feeling relatively well. She’s got slight breathlessness, nothing too bad just noticeable if she walks far or talks

Just needing some validation
My adult son, age 34, suffers with neuro Behcets and has horrible pain. He is on palliative care. He has eye problems, lesions, arthritic pain, balance issues and chronic mouth sores. He is depressed and feels alone. I tried to connect with the Behcets community in the US but it’s not responsive. He

Dear all, My incredibly beautiful, vibrant, amazing and brilliant mother passed away at about 22:30 on Monday night, October 12, 2020. Linda (a.k.a. Laura) Lubitz Dunlap. She was an extremely youthful 73. She was in the RUH here in Bath, in the Waterhouse ward. She had been receiving palliative care

Carer support
Hi. Does anyone know if there’s any funds available to help pay for carers counselling support? The NHS services I’ve been offered in the past don’t really get it, that I don’t need fixing, just a regular person to talk to so that I can save my friends and family for positive times and not moan at them

Our Saga so far...and an observation about quality of care
I've been lurking here for a couple of years but it's time for me to introduce myself and offer up our experiences so far. Please excuse the length of my story! My husband was diagnosed in the summer of 2016 at age 60 with advanced metastatic disease. It took over five months to find out what was going

Decompensated liver
Hi everyone, I have just joined this group and in desperate need of advice. My mum 68 has decompensated liver with all of the complications that go with it. She was hospitalised in July for 3 weeks, was out for 3 weeks then back into hospital for 3 weeks. She was only out 8 days this time and now

Hope to be helpful
If you’ve not read my old post with details I’ll summarize. I’ve had melanoma for 9 years, stage 1 boosted to stage 3 practically immediately and was excised along with my right ear. Entered a trial treatment which has since been approved, Ipilimumab. For a few years after I continued my foolish behavior

Update on Decision to Stop Chemo
I completely stopped all chemotherapy treatment as of 4 weeks ago. Cancer and cancer treatment and staying alive and ahead of the cancer has been taking up my headspace for almost 2 1/2 years now, I thought it would be wise to meet with a counselor to get some feedback on where to focus next. Surprisingly

Back pain has put me back on hospital again.
Hi everyone, as u can see by the title back in hospital again after only 3 weeks. Last time was the severe pain in my pelvis but this time it's severe pain in the middle part of my spine which does worry me a bit as my metastasis is deep in my spine just below this pain. Doctors are looking into it and

Found a Medic who was NICE and KIND to me leading to prolific tears.
A major significant day in my long and convoluted journey. A Specialist Nurse Practitioner was really nice and kind to me and was FIRST medic who actually understood what I have been through for these past few years. I was so emotional because of her kindness that the things she told me, didn’t

Rucaparib, info and experiences please
I've had 4 doses of carboplatin - this knocked down my CA125 from 1190 to 90 after the third, don't know if its gone down again since my last infusion 10 days ago yet. The cancer was active in lymph nodes in the mesentery, pelvis and peritoneum; I had a CT scan after the third infusion which showed

Had surgery on June 22nd and I have stage 4 OC that doc described as aggressive
I asked doc if this a situation for palliative care and she responded that she wants to cure me. She said the OC has not invaded my bladder, but it was growing on the outside and she scraped the cancer cells off. She also examined the length of my colon and scraped off the cancer cells on the outside
