Xadago (safinamide)
My neurologist recently prescribed this drug, in addition to my ongoing levodopa (825 to 925 mg per day). This has lead to the elimination of off times and I have been able to reduce my levodopa, currently to 625 to 725mg per day. I believe I may be able to achieve further reductions. Does anyone here

Doctor/Patient relations
PwP, don't be jealous of me because I have a doctor that is not letting holidays get in the way. I have a new neurologist that I am "training".. She is better at connecting with her patients than my previous doctor. I and her do not agree on the ideal dose for my Parkinson’s treatment. She is skeptical

B1 Tyamine - how much to start?
I am also taking
Carbidopa
/
levodopa
25/100 the times a day. I also take a small amount of L-dopa (1/8 tsp) from NutriVita. I was wondering, how much B1 should I start taking? Don’t want to OD on too many things. I was diagnosed in April.

What is the maximum carbidopa/levodopa that can be taken in one day? I have been off this site for years.
I am up to about 13 per day 25/100 and 3 controlled release. Have had PD approx 33 yrs. Not doing well......biggest problem is weakness.

Ways various PD treatments deplete essential chemicals.
https://www.dovepress.com/parkinsonrsquos-disease-managing-reversible-neurodegeneration-peer-reviewed-fulltext-article-NDT The above is an interesting read, including various pathways that are depleted with PD treatments. Also this was interesting: Should mucuna and 5-HTP be used instead of sinemet

Finally we have help...
Since my last post a lot has happened. The care in the new home is so much better and mum is much calmer. Unfortunately since her admission 2 weeks ago her MSA symptoms have come thick and fast - some incontinence, balance problems, UTI infections, and her BP is now all over the place, with 2 instances

WHAT ALTERNATIVE HELPS DURING AEROBIC EXERCISE APART FROM LEVODOPA?
Hi, If you have engaged in rigorous aerobics as a Pwp who is on C/l,you must have noticed that your symptoms probably increased after the exercise. It is known that, your body uses up available dopamine.I have been experiencing this every time I exercise.Kindly respond if any other option works for you

New to this forum and loaded with questions??
I was diagnosed with dystonia but the GP never told me so I learned about it just a year ago and the 2018 report said I have ET and dystonia. I am far away from the Movement Disorder Clinic in Vancouver now. Swallowing issues started 1st and then neck, (very painful for quite awhile), then face, jaw

Mucuna re-try?
Did Hinz protocol for 8 or 9 months. ANY B-6 caused me to vomit within mere minutes of ingestion. I was using an ND for guidance at $300 per hour. Let me tell you, he spoke slowly and repetitively! Since it was all out of pocket, it was not financially sustainable. The practitioner had me up to 18gm

Pharmacology of levodopa/carbidopa
I’m hoping someone can explain the pharmacology of l/c which has never been explained satisfactorily to me. I’ve been taking l/c for two and a half years and was diagnosed coming up to eight years ago. I understand the half life of levodopa is one and a half hours. But there still seems to be

Are you supposed to take your B-1 supplement at the exact time you take your carbidopa/levodopa
I have been taking B1 and
carbidopa
/
Levodopa
at the exact same time, twice a day, before breakfast and then before lunch. Would I get better results if I didn't take them at the same time?

More from Gods notebook...
Actually those studies were done to compare natural
levodopa
(Mucuna) to a synthetic combination of
levodopa
and
carbidopa
(i.e., the contents of Sinemet). The solution seems simple: add
carbidopa
to Mucuna.

Pramipexole
I've spent hours researching augmentation and feel a bit confused as some of the information is different to what my G.P told me! I have added an extract from some clinical trials. Anyone got any thoughts?? Evidence review: There is clear evidence that pramipexole reduces the leg movements associated

A few questions about how the B1 Therapy is currently administered, and an idea on how to improve results.
First question I'm wondering about is those of you who have been experimenting with B1, what methodology have you been using to try to find the correct dosage? Also, what method does Dr. Constantini recommend for determining the individual dosage amount needed for each person? A thought I had was if

What next on this awful rollercoaster
Interesting to read the post just put up on Levodopa (Co-Careldopa) I have just been prescribed 1to 2 nightly12.5 mg. I argumented on ropinerole almost a year ago and have been on pregabalin but there is a good chance that this has caused me to lose my peripheral vision. I have just weened of that
